Disney On Ice is set to return to arenas across the UK later this year with Disney On Ice presents Discover The Magic, a new production featuring world-class skating, aerial performances and some of Disney’s most beloved stories brought to life on the ice.
The show arrives as Disney On Ice continues its 45th anniversary celebrations globally and promises a family experience packed with music, adventure and larger-than-life production. Audiences will join Mickey Mouse and friends on a magical quest to rescue Tinker Bell after Captain Hook attempts to steal her magic, taking fans through unforgettable moments from Frozen, Moana, Encanto, Toy Story, Coco, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid.
Disney favourites return to the ice in a spectacular new production
One of the highlights of the show sees Miguel from Disney Pixar’s Coco guide audiences across the glowing Marigold Bridge into the colourful Land of the Dead, where acrobatic skeleton performers dance high above the crowd. Fans will also journey to Arendelle, where Elsa creates her iconic ice palace in a dazzling display of shimmering crystals.
Elsewhere, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie and the Green Army Men team up for an action-packed rescue mission in Andy’s room, while Moana embarks on a thrilling ocean adventure that culminates in an encounter with the fiery Te Ka. Belle soars beneath the enchanted chandelier, and Stitch adds plenty of unexpected mischief throughout the performance.
The scale of the production is equally impressive behind the scenes. More than 100 skilled artisans create approximately 173 costumes using thousands of yards of fabric, decorated with hundreds of thousands of hand-set Swarovski crystals. Performers complete costume changes in less than 30 seconds, while the touring set weighs more than 12,000 pounds and features the iconic 1,000-pound “Stilettos” staircase.
The growing popularity of Disney-themed live entertainment comes as families continue to seek immersive experiences beyond the cinema, following strong interest in attractions such as Disneyland Paris’ upcoming attractions and expansion plans.
