Hershey’s Kisses Creamy Milk Chocolate bags recalled in Canada over undeclared almonds

Hershey’s Kisses Recall Canada 2026: Check Lot Codes and Package Sizes

Canadian consumers are being asked to check certain bags of Hershey’s Kisses after a nationwide recall was issued over the possible presence of almonds that are not declared on the label. The warning applies to selected 104-gram and 200-gram bags of Hershey’s Kisses Creamy Milk Chocolate, not every Kisses product sold in Canada.

Hershey Canada initiated the voluntary recall after one allergic reaction associated with consumption of an affected product was reported. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency published the notice on August 1, 2026, and classified it as a Class 1 food recall because undeclared almonds can pose a serious risk to people with an allergy.

Affected 104g bags and lot codes

The recalled 104g bags have UPC 0 56600 62076 6. Consumers should look for the June 1, 2027 best-before date and one of the following lot codes:

51GXPB160F, 51GXPB160G, 51GXPB161L, 51GXPB260F, 51GXPB260G, 51GXPB357G, 51GXPB360G, 51GXPB361L, 51HXPB161L and 51HXPB261L.

Affected 200g bags and lot codes

The recalled 200g bags carry UPC 0 56600 20203 0. The affected lot codes, connected to the same June 1, 2027 best-before date, are:

51GXPT158M, 51GXPT162D, 51GXPT258M, 51GXPT262C, 51GXPT262D, 51GXPT358K, 51GXPT358M, 51GXPT358N, 51GXPT362C, 51GXPT362D, 51GXPV157B, 51HXPT162D, 51HXPV157B and 51HXPY157B.

Consumers should compare the product name, package size, UPC, best-before date and lot code together. A matching bag size or similar packaging alone does not confirm that a product is included.

Why this is a Class 1 recall

Almonds are tree nuts that can cause reactions ranging from hives, swelling and stomach symptoms to breathing difficulties and anaphylaxis. Even a small amount may present a serious risk to someone with a severe almond allergy.

The Class 1 designation reflects the potential health consequences if an allergic person consumes an affected candy. It does not mean almonds are present in every recalled bag. The concern is that some Kisses may contain almond even though it is not listed on the packaging.

A similar labeling concern previously resulted in a DAVIDsTEA recall over undeclared almonds. Canadian shoppers have also faced a separate Costco chocolate mousse recall involving undeclared nuts. These cases demonstrate why checking exact package identifiers is more reliable than looking only at the brand name.

What consumers should do

People with an almond allergy or sensitivity should not consume a matching product. The recalled candies must not be used, sold, served or distributed. Consumers should throw them away safely or return them to the place where they were purchased.

Hershey is offering a full refund for products bearing an affected lot code. Consumers can contact Hershey Consumer Relations at 1-800-468-1714, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time.

Households without an almond allergy should still remove matching products because the candies could be shared with an allergic family member or visitor. Anyone who develops breathing difficulty, facial or throat swelling, dizziness or another severe reaction after eating the product should seek emergency medical assistance.

What happens next in the investigation?

The CFIA is conducting a food-safety investigation that could lead to additional recalls if other affected products are identified. The agency is also verifying that retailers and other businesses are removing recalled stock from the Canadian marketplace.

Consumers should retain the packaging until every identifier has been checked and monitor official notices for changes. The complete product table, packaging images and refund information are available in the official Hershey Canada recall notice.
