A single ticket-holder has landed a life-changing £13.3 million after Wednesday night’s “Must Be Won” National Lottery Lotto draw finally produced a jackpot winner — ending weeks of rollovers and sparking a rush of players checking their tickets.
Lotto winning numbers (Wed 14 Jan 2026)
Main numbers: 2, 5, 22, 35, 44, 54
Bonus Ball: 23
The draw had been labelled Must Be Won, meaning if nobody matched all six numbers, the jackpot pot would have been rolled down and shared across lower prize tiers. Instead, one player matched the full line to bank the top prize outright, the National Lottery confirmed. Reports said the jackpot was cleared in a single win.
What “Must Be Won” actually means
A Must Be Won draw kicks in when the jackpot reaches its rollover limit. If the top prize isn’t won, the jackpot money drops into the next prize tier — which can turn a “normal” win (like matching five numbers) into a much bigger payday than usual.
Other big winners tonight

- 63 players reportedly won ÂŁ1,750 by matching five main numbers.
- Thunderball also ran shortly after Lotto, with ÂŁ500,000 available to top winners.
