Kyle King claims fourth title and third straight victory

King, an active-duty Marine from Northern Virginia, added the 2026 title to victories in 2022, 2024 and 2025, according to NBC Washington’s race coverage.

But returning as the defending champion has not made the occasion feel easier. Speaking to NBC after the race, King said: “I’d say it gets harder each time.” He added: “The pressure’s always there.”

His latest winning margin left a clear gap at the front of the men’s standings. Soltys secured second place, finishing 1 minute, 18 seconds ahead of Reimann. Lucas Stalnaker placed fourth in 2:24:14, followed by Jordan Smith in 2:24:41.

Further down the top 10, Brett Brady finished eighth in 2:25:45, just two seconds ahead of John Bowers. Vince Paikowski followed another six seconds later.
