With the prize returning to its base level, millions of players across the United States are checking their tickets to see if they landed one of the winning combinations in the latest draw.

Even after the jackpot resets, interest in the Powerball lottery remains extremely high. The game is known for producing some of the largest prizes in lottery history, including billion-dollar jackpots that capture global attention.

White Balls: 7, 14, 42, 47, 56
Powerball: 6
Power Play: 4X

Powerball Jackpot Reset After Arkansas Winner

The March 4 drawing follows a major jackpot win earlier this week. On March 2, a ticket sold in Arkansas matched all six numbers to win an estimated $250.8 million Powerball jackpot, ending the previous jackpot run.

Because of that win, the jackpot for Wednesday night reset to $20 million, with a cash option of about $9.4 million. The jackpot grows rapidly if no player matches all six numbers in subsequent drawings.

According to official data published on the Powerball website, the lottery has produced nearly 200 jackpot winners since it launched in 1992.

How Powerball Is Played

Powerball tickets cost $2 per play. Players choose:

Five white ball numbers from 1 to 69
One red Powerball number from 1 to 26

Players can also add the optional Power Play feature for an additional $1. This multiplier increases non-jackpot prizes by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or even 10X, depending on the number drawn that night.

Where Powerball Is Available

Powerball tickets are sold in 45 U.S. states as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

However, five states do not participate in Powerball:

Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah.

Tickets are typically available at convenience stores, grocery stores, gas stations and other licensed lottery retailers.

Odds of Winning Powerball

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are extremely long. The official odds of matching all six numbers are about 1 in 292,201,338.

However, players have better chances of winning smaller prizes. The overall odds of winning any prize in Powerball are about 1 in 24.9.

Next Powerball Drawing

Powerball drawings are held three times each week — Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Each drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. ET.

As drawings continue without a jackpot winner, the prize can grow rapidly. Some of the largest jackpots in history have exceeded $1 billion, making Powerball one of the most watched lotteries in the world.

Once the official numbers are released, they will be updated above so players can quickly check whether their ticket is a winner.
