Reading & Leeds Festival 2026: Charli XCX, Dave and RAYE Lead an All-UK-Irish Line-Up

Reading & Leeds Festival has fired the starting gun on summer 2026, unveiling a first wave line-up that leans hard into home-grown stars. For the first time in around 25 years, the twin festivals will be topped exclusively by British and Irish headliners, with Charli XCX, Dave, RAYE, Florence + The Machine, Fontaines D.C. and Chase & Status all confirmed to close out the nights.

The announcement has already pushed queries like “reading festival 2026”, “reading festival line up” and “reading festival tickets” to the top of UK searches, as fans scramble to see where their favourites sit on the poster.

Who is headlining Reading & Leeds 2026?

At the top of the bill are six acts that neatly capture the current shape of British and Irish music. Pop disruptor Charli XCX arrives off the back of global “BRAT” mania, bringing her club-ready, internet-detonating pop to the Main Stage. Rapper Dave returns as one of the defining lyricists of his generation, following the success of his latest chart-topping record. BRIT record-breaker RAYE graduates to headliner status after re-writing the rulebook for UK pop and R&B.

They’re joined by Irish post-punk heroes Fontaines D.C., returning festival veterans Florence + The Machine, and dance titans Chase & Status, who bring a live drum’n’bass show built for huge crowds. Between them, the six headliners span sweat-drenched pits, rave-ready fields and big-chorus singalongs.

Leeds will also make a little history of its own: for the first time the Main Stage opens on Thursday, with Kasabian booked in for a standalone headline slot to kick off the weekend.

When and where is Reading Festival 2026?

Reading & Leeds 2026 once again take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, from Thursday 27 to Sunday 30 August 2026. Reading Festival returns to its familiar home at Little John’s Farm on Richfield Avenue, while Leeds Festival sets up at Bramham Park in Yorkshire.

For fans still asking “where is Reading Festival?” and “what are the Reading Festival dates?”, the message is simple: the location hasn’t changed, but the scale of the line-up clearly has. Early names further down the poster include Skepta, Role Model, Kneecap, Kettama and more, with plenty of space still left for rock, indie and newcomers to be added in later waves.

Tickets, presale and how to plan your weekend

With an all-star UK and Ireland line-up, demand is already intense. PayPal and festival presales roll out first, followed by a general sale that is expected to move quickly. Fans can find full ticket options and official information, including camping and accessibility details, on the Reading Festival website.

If you’re weighing up whether to head for Reading or Leeds, travel and accommodation will be key. Rail capacity to Reading and Leeds is often stretched across the bank holiday, and hotels close to the sites are already beginning to creep up in price. It’s worth locking in trains and rooms early, or preparing for a full camping weekend.
