Amber Alert Issued in Winnipeg After 2-Year-Old Boy Taken From Chesterfield Avenue Home

Winnipeg police have issued an Amber Alert after a two-year-old boy was reportedly taken from a residence in the city’s east district on Friday morning.

William Ettawacappo, 2-year-old boy missing in Winnipeg Amber Alert

Officers responded to 54 Chesterfield Avenue at approximately 10:09 a.m. on February 27, 2026, where they learned that William Ettawacappo, age 2, had been removed from the home.

According to police, the child was last seen wrapped in a dark blue and light blue blanket. Authorities say it remains unknown where the individuals involved may be headed or what vehicle they may have used.

Police Searching for Two Women

Investigators believe William may be with one or both of the following individuals:

Caitlin Cassandra Monkman identified in Winnipeg Amber Alert

Caitlin Cassandra Monkman, 30
Described as Indigenous in appearance, approximately 5’8” with a heavy build. She was last seen wearing dark clothing and light-coloured shoes.

Kineisha Rose Jawbone identified in Winnipeg Amber Alert

Kineisha Rose Jawbone, 25
Described as Indigenous in appearance, approximately 5’7” with a heavy build. She was also last seen wearing dark clothing and light-coloured shoes.

Police allege that Monkman took the child following a dispute with the boy’s biological mother. The direction of travel and vehicle information remain unknown.
