Spirit Halloween is already preparing for the 2026 Halloween rush, and its latest hiring push is one of the clearest signs that seasonal retail hiring has started early. The company is looking to fill 52,000 seasonal jobs across the United States and Canada, opening applications months before Halloween shoppers begin crowding its pop-up stores.
The hiring drive covers seasonal store roles as well as management positions, giving applicants a chance to work during one of the busiest and most recognisable retail seasons of the year. Spirit Halloween is known for opening temporary stores in the run-up to October, selling costumes, animatronics, decorations, accessories and horror-themed merchandise.
For job seekers, the timing matters. Many Spirit Halloween roles are short-term positions, but they can offer flexible schedules, retail experience and a route into seasonal management work.
Spirit Halloween jobs open for the 2026 season
Spirit Halloween is hiring seasonal sales associates, assistant managers, store managers, regional managers and zone managers. The company’s seasonal stores are expected to operate across a wide footprint in the US and Canada, with its jobs site describing Spirit as having more than 1,500 seasonal stores across both countries.
Sales associate roles are usually the entry-level path for applicants looking for part-time seasonal work. These jobs can involve helping customers, working the register, restocking merchandise, assisting with store displays and keeping the sales floor organised during the busiest weeks of the Halloween season.
Management roles carry broader responsibilities. Spirit’s own careers information says store and district management positions can involve sales, payroll, recruiting, training, employee relations, expense control, shrink control, merchandising, store opening and store teardown. That makes the roles more demanding than a standard seasonal retail shift, especially because Spirit Halloween stores are temporary and must be built, operated and closed within a tight seasonal window.
The company says seasonal sales associate and store manager roles typically begin around August 1 and run through mid-November. District sales manager roles may begin earlier, usually in July, and also run into November. That seasonal window gives applicants several months of work while allowing Spirit to staff stores before Halloween demand peaks.
Applicants should check the job description carefully before applying because age requirements can vary by role. Spirit’s careers page lists seasonal sales associate roles for applicants who are at least 16 years old, while store manager and district sales manager roles require applicants to be at least 21 years old.
