AlphaTheta CDJ-1500X compact DJ media player featuring a 10.1-inch touchscreen, illuminated jog wheel, and professional performance controls against a colorful studio lighting background.

AlphaTheta Launches CDJ-1500X With Wi-Fi, Cloud Streaming and 10.1-Inch Touchscreen

AlphaTheta has introduced the CDJ-1500X, a compact DJ multi-player built for DJs, bars, small clubs, home studios and mobile setups that need professional playback features without the size of a flagship booth.

The new player brings a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, built-in Wi-Fi, cloud library access, streaming support and CoBeat audience requests into a smaller unit positioned below the CDJ-3000X.

For working DJs and smaller venues, the launch matters because the CDJ-1500X offers a more space-friendly way to access modern club-style workflows, including USB playback, cloud-connected libraries and touchscreen browsing.

Compact Design For Smaller DJ Setups

The CDJ-1500X measures 252.1 Ă— 374.7 Ă— 116.5 mm and weighs 3.6 kg, making it easier to fit into booths where a full-size media player may be too large. That makes the unit suitable for bar counters, boutique clubs, hotel lounges, mobile DJ rigs and home studios.

Rather than replacing the CDJ-3000X, the CDJ-1500X gives AlphaTheta a smaller option for users who want a separate media player instead of an all-in-one controller.

10.1-Inch Touchscreen Improves Track Browsing

The player includes a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, matching the screen size of the CDJ-3000X. The Browse View can show up to 15 tracks at once, helping DJs move through playlists more quickly during a live set.

Waveform previews, vocal position indicators, BPM change markers and phrase information are also included. These tools help DJs understand a track’s structure before mixing, especially when planning transitions around vocals, breakdowns or tempo changes.

Playlist Edit lets users rearrange tracks directly on the player, reducing the need to return to a laptop or mobile device during preparation or performance. Dark and Light display modes are also available for different booth lighting conditions.

Wi-Fi, Cloud Libraries And Streaming Access

According to AlphaTheta’s official announcement, the CDJ-1500X supports built-in Wi-Fi, rekordbox CloudDirectPlay and StreamingDirectPlay.

StreamingDirectPlay works with Apple Music, Beatport Streaming and TIDAL, depending on regional availability and subscription requirements. CloudDirectPlay supports music libraries stored through Dropbox and Google Drive.

For DJs who regularly update playlists before a performance, cloud access can simplify preparation while keeping music libraries synchronized across devices. The growing shift toward connected digital platforms can also be seen in gaming, as highlighted in the Mario Kart World Update 1.7.0 patch notes and new routes, where online updates continue to expand the user experience.

QR Code And NFC Login

The CDJ-1500X supports QR code login and NFC touch login through rekordbox for iOS and Android. With NFC login, DJs can tap a compatible mobile device on the player to access personal settings and playlists faster.

This could be useful in shared booths where multiple DJs use the same setup during one night and need quick changeovers.

CoBeat Adds Optional Audience Requests

The CDJ-1500X is the first AlphaTheta multi-player announced with CoBeat support. CoBeat lets audience members scan a QR code, browse a DJ-approved catalogue, vote for tracks, send song requests and submit messages.

Requests can appear on the player’s Browse screen, while emoji reactions can appear on the DJ’s smartphone. Because CoBeat is optional, DJs can enable it for request-friendly events or turn it off when they want full control of the set.

AlphaTheta says CoBeat and the rekordbox Mac/Windows update adding CDJ-1500X support are scheduled for July 9, 2026.

Performance Controls And Connectivity

The CDJ-1500X includes eight Hot Cue buttons, a Beat Loop knob, Beat Sync and Beat Jump. It also has a mid-size jog wheel with a rotation indicator and non-slip surface.

Connectivity includes USB Type-A and USB Type-C support for storage devices, a USB-C connection for PC use, LAN support for PRO DJ LINK and RCA analogue audio output.

Supported audio formats include MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF, Apple Lossless and FLAC. Compatible software includes rekordbox for Mac, Windows, iOS and Android, along with Serato DJ Pro and djay Pro. The player is also OneLibrary compatible.

Customization Options

AlphaTheta has added 12 front-panel LED colour options, allowing DJs and venues to match the player with booth lighting or personal style. Optional side panels are also available separately.

These additions do not change the performance features, but they make the player more adaptable for permanent installations and mobile setups where appearance matters.

What DJs Give Up Compared With The Flagship

The CDJ-1500X keeps the large touchscreen and several modern workflow tools, but it does not match the CDJ-3000X in every area.

The audio specification is lower, with a 105 dB signal-to-noise ratio compared with 115 dB on the CDJ-3000X. Total harmonic distortion is listed at 0.003%, and frequency response is 20 Hz–20 kHz.

The CDJ-1500X also does not include the CDJ-3000X’s digital coaxial output or 96kHz/32-bit ESS Technologies DAC. Some advanced performance features, including Gate Cue, Preview Hot Cue, Doubled/Halved and Smart Cue, are also absent.

Who Should Consider The CDJ-1500X

The CDJ-1500X is best suited for DJs who want a standalone player with touchscreen browsing, USB support, Wi-Fi, streaming access and cloud playback, but do not need the full flagship feature set.

It also makes sense for smaller venues that want to upgrade their booth without moving to the largest and most expensive AlphaTheta setup. Mobile DJs may benefit from the lower weight, compact size and flexible library access.

For major club installations, touring setups or users who need stronger audio specifications and digital output, the CDJ-3000X remains the higher-end choice.

Price And Availability

The AlphaTheta CDJ-1500X is priced at US$1,599 before tax in the United States. Regional pricing includes €1,699 including VAT in Europe and £1,469 including VAT in the United Kingdom.

With the CDJ-1500X, AlphaTheta is expanding its DJ player lineup for smaller booths and mobile setups while keeping several features that modern DJs now expect, including cloud music access, streaming support, touchscreen browsing and optional audience interaction.
