What is Lotto Max
Lotto Max is a Canadian lottery game that offers jackpots starting at an estimated $10 million and growing up to $80 million. Once the jackpot reaches $50 million, additional $1 million prizes called MAXMILLIONS are also drawn while the jackpot keeps growing.
How Lotto Max is played and how much it costs
Lotto Max draws take place every Tuesday and Friday, with sales ending across the country at 10:30 p.m. ET. A play costs $5 and includes three sets of seven numbers selected from 1 to 50. Players can choose the first set and use Quick Pick for the remaining sets, or use Quick Pick for all three. ENCORE can be added for $1 per play, and advance play can be purchased for up to 52 draws.
How big Lotto Max jackpots can grow
Jackpots begin at an estimated $10 million and can grow to $80 million. When the jackpot reaches $50 million, MAXMILLIONS draws of $1 million each are added while the main jackpot continues to increase.
Overall odds of winning a prize
The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 7 per $5 play.
Advance play changes and upcoming update
Changes are planned for Lotto Max with sales starting on April 11, 2026. To create separation between the current game and the new version, advance play is being limited through April 10, 2026. In Ontario, advance play options were disabled on OLG Self Serve Terminals during the transition, while players can continue purchasing advance draws online or at lottery terminals based on the rollout schedule. For official rules and updates, refer to the OLG Lotto Max information page.
