The incident occurred during the tour’s opening performance on June 24 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. While singing Dancing on the Ceiling, Richie told the audience he was feeling dizzy before taking a seat on stage.
He finished a piano performance of Three Times a Lady, but after an unscheduled intermission the concert ended early. Richie was later taken to a local hospital as a precaution, and doctors advised him to rest before returning to the road.
Although reports suggested dehydration may have contributed to the episode, Richie’s representatives have not released an official medical diagnosis.
