Swatch and Omega have opened applications for Mission to the Moon 1969, a limited-edition MoonSwatch commemorating Apollo 11. The individually numbered watch costs $570 in the United States, includes 11 grams of 18K Moonshine Gold and is limited to 1,969 pieces worldwide.
Customers cannot buy it through a normal walk-in sale. They must complete Swatch’s Electronic Swatch Timepiece Application, answer every question correctly and then be selected for the right to purchase one.
MoonSwatch 1969 application deadline
The application opened on July 16, 2026, at 3:32 p.m. CEST and closes on July 21 at 11:59 p.m. CEST.
That is 5:59 p.m. ET, 2:59 p.m. PT and 10:59 p.m. BST on July 21. In India, the deadline is 3:29 a.m. IST on July 22.
How to apply
Applicants must sign in to a Swatch account or create one, provide their personal details and select a participating Swatch store. That location becomes the collection point if the application succeeds and cannot be changed later.
The ESTA reportedly includes 32 questions. Applicants have two hours and 15 minutes to complete them, reflecting the time Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin spent performing experiments on the lunar surface.

Who is eligible?
Anyone who was at least 18 when applications opened can enter. Swatch Group employees and their families, affiliates, agents and people involved in the selection process are excluded.
Applicants must be able to collect the watch personally. Swatch has not announced home delivery, and another person cannot collect it for an approved buyer.
Is selection first-come, first-served?
No. Applying early does not provide a stated advantage. Everyone who answers all questions correctly can be considered, after which an internal Swatch jury will choose 1,969 applicants. A perfect application therefore does not guarantee approval.
The online process differs from Swatch launches that generated immediate queues. Similar demand appeared when the Swatch Royal Pop attracted crowds and resale interest after its release.
Collectors had been following the company’s partnership strategy since the Audemars Piguet Royal Pop collection was confirmed. The ESTA system gives people several days to apply instead of favoring those able to reach a store first.
What happens after approval?
Successful applicants will receive an email a few days after the application period ends. Approval grants the right to buy the watch; it is not a giveaway.
Selected buyers will have 48 hours to complete payment online. Missing that window means forfeiting the opportunity, which may then pass to another qualified applicant.
After payment, Swatch will notify the buyer when the watch is ready. Collection requires a valid photo ID or passport and a copy of the approved ESTA. The buyer must visit the store selected in the original application.
Price and the 11-gram gold reference
Mission to the Moon 1969 costs $570 in the US and CHF 500 in Switzerland. Prices elsewhere may vary because of taxes and regional pricing.

Is the MoonSwatch solid gold?
No. Its dial, hands, crown and chronograph pushers are made from Omega’s proprietary 18K Moonshine Gold and collectively weigh 11 grams. Swatch says the gold came from old Omega spare parts dating to the 1969 period, which were melted in its foundry.
The case and bezel use matte-black Bioceramic, Swatch’s blend of two-thirds ceramic and one-third biosourced material derived from castor oil.
