Casio has introduced a special-edition Pokémon G-Shock that marks one of the biggest milestones in the franchise’s history. The new GA-110PKM-7AJR celebrates 30 years of the Pokémon video game series by combining the rugged design of the popular G-Shock GA-110 with subtle references to Pikachu, the original Pokémon games and several fan-favourite creatures.
Rather than producing another character-themed watch, Casio has focused on small design details that reflect Pokémon’s history while keeping the everyday durability that made G-Shock one of the world’s best-known watch collections. The release is expected to attract both dedicated collectors and people looking for a distinctive daily watch.
Launch Date, Price and Regional Availability
In Japan, the Pokémon G-Shock carries an official retail price of ¥33,000 (around US$205). Because demand is expected to exceed supply, Casio is distributing the model through an online lottery instead of a standard sale.
Applications opened on July 1 and close on July 6, with successful buyers scheduled to receive notification on July 16.
UK customers will be able to purchase the watch for £220. Casio has not announced a lottery for the UK, although purchases will be limited to one watch per customer account.
A Tribute to the Original Pokémon Games
The design takes inspiration from the first Pokémon titles that introduced millions of players to the series. The white resin case is accented with red, green and blue, referencing Pokémon Red, Pokémon Green and Pokémon Blue.
Instead of relying on oversized graphics, Casio has woven anniversary references throughout the watch. The result is a design that remains recognisable as a G-Shock while rewarding longtime Pokémon fans with subtle details.
Hidden Pokémon Details Across the Watch
The watch face features a Poké Ball graphic inside one of the sub-dials, while Pikachu’s famous lightning-bolt tail has been transformed into an indicator hand.
Turning the watch over reveals an exclusive Pokémon 30th anniversary engraving on the stainless-steel caseback, a feature reserved specifically for this collaboration.
More Than 30 Pokémon Included on the Strap
The printed resin strap showcases artwork featuring more than 30 Pokémon species. Casio has included the starter Pokémon from every game generation, allowing fans from different eras of the franchise to recognise familiar companions.
Characters including Pikachu, Eevee and Mew appear alongside many other Pokémon, giving the design broader appeal than a single-character release.
Collector Packaging Completes the Experience
Collectors often value presentation as much as the product itself, and Casio has paid close attention to both. The watch arrives in an illustrated anniversary box with a storage case shaped like a Poké Ball.
The themed packaging helps distinguish the release from standard G-Shock models and makes it more attractive for long-term display or collecting.
GA-110 Specifications Remain Intact
Although the appearance has changed, the watch retains the proven features of the GA-110 platform.
- Model: GA-110PKM-7AJR
- Case Size: 51.2mm
- Shock Resistant
- 200-Metre Water Resistance
- World Time: 29 Time Zones
- 1/1000-Second Stopwatch
- Countdown Timer
- Multiple Daily Alarms
- LED Light
That combination means buyers receive both a functional sports watch and a limited-edition collector’s piece.
Japan Lottery Compared With UK Sales
The biggest difference between regions is how customers can buy the watch. Japanese buyers must first win the official purchase lottery before completing an order, while UK customers are expected to buy directly through Casio’s online store, subject to stock availability.
Lottery systems have become increasingly common for limited G-Shock collaborations because they help manage demand and reduce the advantage of automated purchasing tools.
Why Collectors Are Paying Attention
The collaboration stands out because it celebrates Pokémon’s history through carefully chosen design elements instead of obvious branding. Combined with limited availability, anniversary packaging and the established reputation of the GA-110 platform, the model is expected to appeal to both Pokémon enthusiasts and G-Shock collectors.
People following other high-demand consumer launches may also be interested in the Aldi £14.99 Air Cooler launch in the UK, which generated similar attention because of limited stock and strong buyer interest.
Where to Find Official Information
Casio recommends checking its official regional websites for launch dates, purchasing rules and availability, as these may differ between countries. Buyers can find the latest product details through the official Casio G-Shock website.
For collectors hoping to secure the watch at retail price, following official announcements is likely to be the best approach, particularly in markets where stock is expected to be limited.
