School Bus Cancellations Across Simcoe County and Muskoka Today — January 6, 2026

All school buses across Simcoe County and Muskoka have been cancelled today, according to the Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium (SCSTC), as winter weather conditions made road travel unsafe.

The cancellation affects every transportation zone, including North, West, Central, South, and Muskoka, meaning no school buses will run for the entire day, including afternoon routes.

❌ Which Areas Are Impacted?

Bus service is fully cancelled in:

  • North – Elmvale, Midland, Penetanguishene & Orillia
  • West – Collingwood, Stayner & Wasaga Beach
  • Central – Barrie, Innisfil & Angus
  • South – Alliston, Beeton, Bradford, Cookstown & Tottenham
  • Muskoka – All routes cancelled

Red ❌ indicators across all zones confirm a county-wide shutdown of student transportation.

⏰ When Are Bus Cancellation Decisions Made?

The SCSTC makes transportation decisions before the start of the school day, typically before 6:00 a.m.

Parents should also note:

If buses are cancelled in the morning, they will not run at the end of the day.

❄️ How Are Cancellation Decisions Made?

Each morning, conditions are reviewed during a 5:30 a.m. conference call between the SCSTC and school vehicle operators.
