MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma, November 2, 2026 — An Oklahoma mother has been sentenced to seven consecutive life terms after her 11-year-old daughter gave birth to a baby fathered by her stepfather, exposing sexual abuse and serious neglect inside the family home.
Cherie Dawn Walker, 34, received the sentences on October 30 in Muskogee County after being convicted of enabling child sexual abuse and six counts of child neglect. Her husband, Dustin Walker, 35, previously received life imprisonment plus 42 years after pleading guilty to abusing the girl and neglecting children in the household.

Cherie Walker Receives Seven Consecutive Life Sentences
A Muskogee County jury found Walker guilty on July 17, 2026, of seven felony counts. The court ordered each life sentence to run consecutively, meaning the terms are served one after another rather than simultaneously.
Prosecutors argued that Walker knew her husband was sexually abusing her daughter but failed to intervene. Her conviction for enabling child sexual abuse is legally distinct from Dustin Walker’s conviction for committing the abuse.
According to The Oklahoman’s reporting on the court proceedings, the October 30 sentencing followed more than a year of investigation and prosecution.
11-Year-Old Girl Gave Birth Without Prenatal Care
The investigation began on August 16, 2025, when the girl gave birth at the family’s Muskogee home without medical assistance. She was subsequently taken to a hospital.
Investigators learned that the child had received no prenatal care and reportedly had not visited a doctor for more than a year.
DNA testing confirmed that Dustin Walker, the girl’s stepfather, was the newborn’s biological father.
Both adults initially claimed they were unaware of the pregnancy. Prosecutors disputed that account, alleging Cherie knew about the ongoing abuse.
The child’s identity and current medical condition have not been publicly disclosed.

Investigators Uncovered Neglect Inside Family Home
Authorities also found troubling living conditions, including inadequate sanitation, reported problems with running water and insufficient medical care.
Five other children were living in the couple’s care alongside the 11-year-old and her newborn. The six neglect convictions reflected wider concerns about the children’s welfare.
The case raises questions about how serious abuse can remain undetected when children lack regular contact with healthcare providers, schools and other adults outside their homes.
Child welfare concerns have also featured in other US investigations, including a Florida case involving allegations that children were left home alone.
Dustin Walker Sentenced to Life Plus 42 Years
Dustin Walker pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a child younger than 12 and six counts of child neglect. In June 2026, he received a life sentence for the sexual abuse offense and another 42 years for neglect.
The additional punishment included one 15-year term, four five-year terms and one seven-year term, ordered to run consecutively.
Unlike Cherie, who was convicted by a jury, Dustin entered a guilty plea. He later sought to withdraw that plea but abandoned the request in September 2026.
Grandmother Michelle Justus Also Faced Charges
The investigation also resulted in charges against the girl’s grandmother, Michelle Justus.
Prosecutors alleged that Justus knew about abuse in the household but failed to protect the child. Her case is separate, and the available reporting does not establish a final conviction or sentence.
