Amazfit Active 3 Premium smartwatch and Helio Strap launched in Australia

Amazfit Launches Active 3 Premium and Helio Strap in Australia: Prices and Features

Amazfit has expanded its direct-to-consumer presence in Australia, launching the Active 3 Premium smartwatch and screen-free Helio Strap through its local online store.

The Active 3 Premium costs A$239, while the Helio Strap is priced at A$166. Both target runners and fitness enthusiasts seeking workout, sleep and recovery insights without a mandatory subscription for core features.

What Amazfit is offering Australian buyers

Amazfit is owned by Zepp Health, which develops Zepp OS, BioTracker biometric sensors, health algorithms, Zepp Coach and the Zepp App. Its products are designed to interpret exercise, sleep, stress and recovery data rather than simply record steps.

Founded in 2015, Amazfit operates in more than 90 countries and reports over 42 million daily active users and 200 million devices sold. Its expansion comes as companies explore new wearable formats, including Apple’s reported smart-glasses designs.

Active 3 Premium design and running features

Available in Apex Silver, Atlas Blue and Aero White, the watch measures 45 by 45 by 11mm and weighs 38g without its strap. It has a stainless-steel frame, four buttons and a 1.32-inch AMOLED display protected by sapphire glass.

The 466-by-466-pixel screen has claimed peak brightness of 3,000 nits, although that maximum is unavailable when the battery falls below 30%.

The watch is aimed at new and developing runners. It offers built-in running and strength workouts, plus adaptive Zepp Coach plans for 5K, 10K, half-marathon and marathon preparation.

More than 170 sports modes are supported. Running measurements include power, ground-contact time, lactate threshold, virtual pacing and track-run correction. Users can also monitor mileage on shoes and other equipment.

Offline maps, storage and battery life

The Active 3 Premium uses five satellite-positioning systems and provides offline maps, turn-by-turn directions, automatic rerouting and point-to-point route planning.

Its 4GB of storage can hold maps and compatible audio files for phone-free activities. Spotify and other third-party music apps cannot be installed directly, although users can control music playing on a connected phone.

Amazfit claims up to 12 days of battery life under typical use, seven days under heavy use and four days with the always-on display. Continuous GPS is rated for up to 24 hours, or about 10 hours when used with stored music.

The watch has 5 ATM water resistance and is suitable for swimming. Amazfit advises removing it before hot showers or saunas because heat and steam can affect its seal.

Health tracking and phone compatibility

BioTracker technology monitors heart rate, blood oxygen, stress and sleep. A one-tap function can measure heart rate, blood oxygen, stress and breathing rate together.

The watch works with iPhones and Android phones through the Zepp App. It can share data with selected services including Strava, TrainingPeaks, adidas Running, Apple Health, Google Fit and komoot, although regional availability can vary.

Bluetooth calling and Zepp Flow voice controls are supported. Speech-to-text message replies require a compatible Android phone.

How the Helio Strap works

The Helio Strap removes the screen and concentrates on continuous biometric monitoring. It can be worn on the wrist or upper arm, where reduced sensor movement may produce more consistent readings during strength training, HYROX and other high-intensity exercise.

The device captures heart-rate data every second and can broadcast live readings to compatible watches, cycling computers, fitness equipment and apps. It can record workouts without a nearby phone and synchronise them with the Zepp App later.

Health features include heart-rate variability, sleep, blood oxygen, stress and BioCharge energy tracking. Its 27 sports modes include strength training and HYROX, with post-workout estimates for VO2 max, training effect, training load and recovery time.

Amazfit claims up to 10 days of battery life. Core features do not require a subscription, giving consumers another option alongside products such as the Fitbit Air screenless fitness tracker.

How the devices work together

The products can operate independently or share information through the Zepp App. The Active 3 Premium provides maps, coaching, calls and visible workout information, while the Helio Strap can continue collecting data when the watch is charging or unsuitable for an activity.

Amazfit’s three-year global HYROX partnership supports this fitness focus. HYROX races combine eight one-kilometre runs with eight functional workout stations, and dedicated modes are designed to track both parts of the competition.

Australian delivery, returns and warranty

Orders are shipped with tracking from a Sydney warehouse and generally dispatched within two business days. Standard delivery is estimated at one to seven days, while A$6 express delivery is estimated at one to four days.

Amazfit offers a 30-day return window and one-year warranty for eligible purchases. Customers may pay return postage for change-of-mind returns. Grey imports and purchases from unauthorised overseas sellers may not receive local warranty coverage.

Current specifications, colours and availability can be checked on the official Amazfit Australia product page.

Important limitations

The Active 3 Premium includes a magnetic USB-C-compatible charging head but no charging cable. Neither wearable is a medical device, and its health readings should not be used to diagnose or treat a condition.

Battery life, GPS performance and sensor results will vary according to settings, environment, skin contact and the activity being recorded.
