Bunnings launched PowerPass Pro Rewards across Australia and New Zealand on July 13, 2026, giving eligible tradies and businesses access to Bunnings credit, Shell fuel discounts, partner offers and Qantas Points based on annual spending.
The six-tier program is the biggest PowerPass overhaul since 2011. Existing customers can remain with PowerPass Classic or apply to convert, but conversion replaces Classic discounts on selected products with the new spending-based rewards model.
How Pro Rewards Dollars work
Members receive $100 in Pro Rewards Dollars after spending $2,000 on eligible purchases during a membership year. Every additional $1,000 earns another $50, meaning $5,000 generates $250 and $10,000 generates $500 in Bunnings credit.
Only the primary account holder can redeem the credit in a Bunnings store. Pro Rewards Dollars cannot be exchanged for cash and expire 12 months after issue. Spending progress resets on the anniversary of the membership start date.
Gift cards, purchases paid for with Pro Rewards Dollars and orders through Bunnings Marketplace, Beaumont Tiles or Tool Kit Depot are excluded. Cancelled, refunded, pending or unpaid transactions do not count.
Six annual spending tiers
- Member: $0 to $1,999
- Essential: $2,000 to $9,999
- Plus: $10,000 to $24,999
- Elite: $25,000 to $49,999
- Ultimate: $50,000 to $99,999
- Black: $100,000 or more
Accounts move up automatically as eligible spending grows. Higher levels can unlock larger fuel discounts, Qantas Points, milestone gifts, exclusive merchandise and additional partner offers.
Shell fuel discounts and other benefits
Eligible members can access Shell Card Lite discounts of 5 cents to 8 cents per litre at participating Shell locations. The available rate depends on the member’s tier and Shell Card conditions.
Other benefits may include $2 small coffees at participating Bunnings Cafés, selected Hire Shop offers, free kitchen quotes and member-only deals.
Program partners include Shell Card, Qantas Business Rewards, Commonwealth Bank, Ultra Tune, Zeller, Beaumont Tiles, InstantScripts, PointsBuild and MYOB. Business tools include integrations with accounting services such as Xero and MYOB.
How many Qantas Points can businesses earn?
Qantas Points begin when an eligible Australian business reaches the Elite tier at $25,000. The primary account holder must have an active Qantas Business Rewards account registered with the same ABN as the PowerPass account.
- $25,000 Elite threshold: 15,000 Qantas Points
- $50,000 Ultimate threshold: 25,000 Qantas Points
- $100,000 Black threshold: 85,000 Qantas Points
The allocations are cumulative, so a business reaching Black in one membership year could earn 125,000 Qantas Points. Black-tier members can earn another 85,000 points for each additional $100,000 spent, subject to a $1 million annual cap.
Points are normally credited within 21 days. PowerPass members can currently have the usual $89.50 Qantas Business Rewards joining fee waived through the dedicated offer.
Owner-builder, apprentice and authorised cardholder accounts cannot receive Qantas Points directly. However, eligible purchases by linked cardholders can help the primary account reach a threshold.
Who can join or convert?
Eligible trades and businesses require a valid ABN or ACN. Owner-builders need a valid permit, while apprentices must provide registration evidence. New customers can apply free, and existing members can check conversion eligibility through the PowerPass portal.
Business details, transaction history and approved credit services can transfer during conversion. Current conditions and exclusions are available on the official PowerPass Pro Rewards information page.
PowerPass Classic or Pro Rewards?
Classic offers discounts on selected products, while Pro Rewards provides store credit at fixed spending milestones. Businesses should compare recent invoices and expected annual spending before converting because Classic discounts are removed after joining Pro Rewards.
The change supports Bunnings’ wider commercial expansion, including the Bunnings, Blackwoods and Workwear Group restructure and investment in trade-focused locations such as Australia’s largest Bunnings Warehouse at Frenchs Forest.
