National Tequila Day falls on Friday, July 24, 2026, bringing discounted margaritas, a Cuervo reimbursement offer and limited-edition tequila releases across the United States. Applebee’s, Chili’s, Tocaya and Twin Peaks are among the participating chains, although prices and availability may vary by location.
The deals arrive as tequila buyers increasingly choose lower-priced bottles and canned cocktails instead of luxury products.

Chili’s margaritas start at $5
Chili’s is offering a $5 Tequila Classic Marg made with Cuervo Tradicional Blanco, triple sec and house-made sour. Its $6 July Margarita of the Month combines el Jimador Blanco with dragon-fruit flavour, while a Patrón Frozen Margarita is listed at $7.
Customers should confirm prices with their nearest restaurant because participation and local menus can differ.
How Cuervo’s margarita offer works
Customers who purchase an eligible Cuervo cocktail or tequila pour can submit an itemised receipt through the official Cuervo Summer Fridays page. Approved claims are reimbursed up to $10 through PayPal or Venmo.
The promotion applies on National Tequila Day and participating Fridays through Labor Day. Age, residency, receipt, claim-limit and promotional-fund restrictions apply.
A separate sweepstakes offers one winner $1,500 for an ideal summer Friday. Another 300 winners will receive $25 toward a margarita.
Applebee’s Don Julio margaritas
Applebee’s has two $10 options. The Backflippin’ Blue Margarita combines Don Julio Reposado, Malibu Coconut Rum, blue curaçao, passion fruit, pineapple, cherry and lime.
The Prickly Plunge Margarita contains Don Julio Reposado, Smirnoff Vodka, triple sec, prickly pear and lime. A $6 BacardĂ Blushing Dragon combines rum, dragon fruit, lemon sour and lemonade.
Applebee’s will donate 50 cents from each non-alcoholic Lemon Berry Sunshine sold through August 30 to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Customers can also buy digital lemons online in $1, $5, $10 or $20 amounts.
Tocaya and Twin Peaks specials
Tocaya’s all-day drink happy hour includes $6 house and watermelon margaritas, a $7 passion-fruit margarita, $8 spicy, tamarind and Piña Picante margaritas, a $9 guava margarita and a $10 Piña Picante Mezcal. Beer costs $3 and wine by the glass costs $6.
Some drinks are restricted to full-bar locations. Discounted food is available from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Participating Twin Peaks locations have a $5 Peaks Margarita, $6 House Margarita, $7 Tequila Sunrise and $7 Barrel Select Margarita. Customers should verify local hours and prices, as they should with other limited-time offers such as recent National Ice Cream Day promotions.
Becky G’s limited-edition Patrón bottle
PatrĂłn is releasing 350 Becky G-designed Rainwater Limited-Edition Silver bottles online on July 24. Each $60 bottle includes a custom cork and wearable scarf.

Why tequila sales are slowing
NielsenIQ data shows tequila retail sales declined 3.9% during the latest 26 weeks and 4.3% in the 52 weeks ending July 11. Ultra-premium sales fell 9.8%, while luxury tequila declined 7.1%.
However, volume increased 4% as average bottle spending fell from about $20 to $18.50. Tequila remains the third-largest tracked spirits category behind whiskey and vodka.
Canned cocktail sales climbed 25.5% to $4.4 billion, indicating a shift toward convenient, lower-priced formats. The figures cover major retail channels but exclude much of the alcohol sold in bars and restaurants.
