Omega has officially revealed a new James Bond watch, but unlike previous 007 releases, this model was created for a video game before becoming a real luxury timepiece. The new Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph 007 First Light appears in the upcoming 007 First Light game from IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios, scheduled to launch on May 27.
The release marks a major change for the Bond watch tradition. Since GoldenEye in 1995, James Bond has worn Omega Seamaster dive watches in films, but this is the first Bond-linked Seamaster chronograph created during Omega’s partnership with the franchise. It is also the first time Omega has launched a production watch directly inspired by a video game character model rather than a movie appearance.
A Bond watch pulled straight from the game
Omega designed the watch to closely resemble the version worn by Bond in the game, where players follow a younger 26-year-old Bond early in his MI6 career. In gameplay, the chronograph subdials reportedly serve functional purposes tied to missions and gadget-style interactions.
The watch itself keeps the core Seamaster Diver 300M DNA but adds several unique details. It features a 44mm stainless steel case, black zirconium-oxide ceramic bezel, ceramic chronograph pushers and Omega’s signature laser-engraved black wave dial.
One of the standout elements is the bronze-gold detailing. The chronograph seconds hand and the 3 o’clock subdial both use Omega’s Bronze Gold treatment, helping the timing functions stand out visually against the black dial.
The watch runs on Omega’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9900, an automatic movement with a 60-hour power reserve, silicon balance spring and METAS certification for precision and magnetic resistance. According to Omega, the movement is also visible through the sapphire caseback, which includes subtle “FIRST LIGHT” branding.

Collectors are divided over the oversized design
While many Bond fans and gaming enthusiasts are excited about the crossover, the watch’s size is already generating debate in the collector community. The Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph 007 First Light measures 17.2mm thick with a 52.8mm lug-to-lug span, making it significantly larger than many traditional luxury sports watches.
Still, Omega appears confident that gaming culture can now drive luxury demand in the same way blockbuster films once did. AAA video games today attract global audiences comparable to Hollywood franchises, and brands increasingly see gaming collaborations as long-term marketing opportunities.
The watch comes on a NATO strap featuring 007 First Light engravings and arrives inside a special suitcase-style presentation box inspired by equipment seen in the game. Omega is also releasing six additional NATO straps based on designs players can unlock in-game.
Priced at around $9,400, the Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph 007 First Light is not a limited edition. That decision could help the model remain visible in the luxury watch market long after the game’s release.
