Simcoe County families got a calmer start today as the Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium (SCSTC) dashboard shows normal bus service across all zones.
As of the latest status shown on December 12, the SCSTC “School Bus Status” page is displaying a green checkmark for North, West, Central, South and Muskoka — meaning no buses in zone cancelled at this time.
Updated Simcoe County Zone Status (Dec 12): All GREEN
- North – OPEN (GREEN) — Elmvale, Midland, Penetanguishene & Orillia
- West – OPEN (GREEN) — Collingwood, Stayner & Wasaga Beach
- Central – OPEN (GREEN) — Barrie, Innisfil & Angus
- South – OPEN (GREEN) — Alliston, Beeton, Bradford, Cookstown & Tottenham
- Muskoka – OPEN (GREEN)
The dashboard covers transportation for schools across the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) and the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board (SMCDSB).
Check the Bus Status Before You Head Out
Conditions can still shift quickly in winter. SCSTC notes that every effort is made to post cancellations between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., so families should refresh the official bus status page early in the morning for the most current information.
For winter driving safety tips, Transport Canada recommends winter tires, reduced speeds and extra stopping distance on icy or snow-covered roads.
