Wendy’s $1 Frosty deal is entering its final weekend, giving customers only until Sunday, August 23, 2026, to grab a small Classic Chocolate or Vanilla Frosty for $1 at participating U.S. restaurants.
The limited-time promotion has been running since July 20 and is available in restaurants, at the drive-thru, through the Wendy’s app and on Wendys.com. Delivery orders are excluded, making the ordering method important for anyone planning to use the offer before it ends.
How to Get Wendy’s $1 Frosty Deal
The $1 price applies only to a small Classic Chocolate or Vanilla Frosty purchased à la carte. Customers do not need to buy a burger, fries or another menu item to qualify.
Wendy’s says U.S. pricing and participation can vary by restaurant, and prices may be higher in Alaska and Hawaii. The promotion is limited to 10 qualifying Frostys per transaction and is not valid for delivery orders.
Customers can check the complete conditions in Wendy’s official $1 Frosty promotion details before ordering.
The Deal Started With Early Access in July
Wendy’s Rewards members received one-day early access on July 19, National Ice Cream Day, through a digital offer in the Wendy’s app. The promotion then opened to customers nationwide at participating locations on July 20 and was scheduled to continue through August 23.
The timing allowed the offer to stretch across summer road trips and into the back-to-school period. Wendy’s has positioned the lower price as an affordable treat as families return to routines involving classes, sports and after-school activities.
The Frosty offer also overlaps with another current promotion: the Wendy’s Sonic the Hedgehog Kids’ Meal, which features collectible character cases and 35 trading cards during Sonic’s 35th anniversary campaign.
Chocolate and Vanilla Are the Only $1 Options
The discount covers Wendy’s two Classic Frosty flavors — Chocolate and Vanilla — in the small size. Larger sizes and specialty Frosty products are not part of the advertised $1 promotion.
That distinction has become more important because Wendy’s currently sells several Frosty formats, including seasonal Fusions. Customers looking specifically for the promotional price should confirm that “Small Classic Frosty” appears in their order before checkout.
Wendy’s Fall Menu Adds Apple Crumble and Pub Favorites
The final days of the Frosty promotion coincide with Wendy’s fall menu, which launched nationwide on August 3.
The Pretzel Bacon Pub Cheeseburger returned after winning Wendy’s “Bring It Back” fan bracket earlier this year. It combines a quarter-pound beef patty with beer cheese sauce, Applewood-smoked bacon, smoky honey mustard, crispy onions, pickles and Muenster cheese on a pretzel bun.
Wendy’s also introduced the Pretzel Bacon Pub Chicken Sandwich and Bacon Pub Fries, which feature beer cheese, shredded cheddar and bacon crumbles.
For dessert, the new Apple Crumble Frosty Fusion combines a Vanilla Frosty with spiced apple syrup and oat crumble. It is a separate seasonal menu item and should not be confused with the $1 Classic Frosty offer.
Back-to-School Food Deals Are Competing for Attention
Wendy’s is not the only restaurant chain using value promotions during the school-season transition. Chipotle recently ran a school-apparel BOGO promotion and is continuing its digital “Chipotle Sundays” offer on August 23, August 30 and September 6.
The Chipotle back-to-school BOGO offer required school-themed apparel for its August 20 promotion, while the Sunday deal requires customers to order at least two entrées after 3 p.m. through Chipotle’s app or website and use the code SUNDAYS to receive a free entrée.
The difference highlights why customers should check individual promotion rules rather than assuming restaurant deals work the same way. Wendy’s $1 Frosty requires no larger food purchase, but the qualifying size, flavor, ordering method and participating location still matter.

What Customers Should Know Before August 23
Anyone planning to use Wendy’s $1 Frosty deal should order a small Classic Chocolate or Vanilla Frosty by August 23 and confirm that the participating restaurant shows the promotional price.
In-store, drive-thru, Wendy’s app and Wendys.com orders qualify under the national promotion, while delivery does not. Since participation and availability can differ locally, checking the final price before paying is the simplest way to avoid confusion.
Unless Wendy’s extends the promotion or announces another offer, customers should expect local regular pricing after August 23. The Apple Crumble Frosty Fusion and other seasonal items remain separate from this $1 Classic Frosty deal.
