Whitney Rose Files for Divorce From Justin Rose After Nearly 17 Years of Marriage

SALT LAKE CITY — “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Whitney Rose has filed for divorce from husband Justin Rose after nearly 17 years of marriage, moving a months-long separation into a formal legal process while their relationship struggles continue to unfold on RHOSLC Season 7.

Whitney filed Tuesday, October 6, in Utah’s Third District Court, Salt Lake Department. She also submitted a proposed parenting plan involving their daughter Bobbie, 16, and son Brooks, 13.

The filing is a significant shift from just weeks ago, when Whitney was describing the marriage as being on pause while she and Justin continued working together and co-parenting.

Whitney and Justin had already been living apart

Whitney previously said she moved into the couple’s guest bedroom in February 2026. By the end of May, she felt ready to take the next step toward separation.

Rather than immediately moving their children between two households, Whitney and Justin adopted a “nesting” arrangement. Bobbie and Brooks remained in the family’s primary residence while their parents rotated between the house and an apartment.

Whitney said the arrangement was intended to preserve the teenagers’ bedrooms, friendships and routines. That approach is particularly relevant now that a proposed parenting plan has been filed with the divorce case. Its detailed terms have not been made public.

RHOSLC Season 7 has documented problems at home

The timing gives the divorce another dimension: viewers are currently watching events filmed months before Whitney went to court.

Whitney has discussed emotional strain at home during Season 7. She described 2025 as a difficult year and acknowledged using alcohol to cope with struggles in her personal life.

She also said disagreements involving business began spreading into other areas of the marriage, eventually leaving her feeling that she needed space from Justin.

Bravo’s timeline of Whitney and Justin Rose’s relationship documents the couple’s progression from marital difficulties to separation and their efforts to continue co-parenting.

Business and career pressures became part of the strain

Financial and professional pressures had also become part of their relationship story.

Whitney has been involved with ventures including Wild Rose Beauty, Sōl People, Prism and the “Wild Rose Podcast.” She has spoken publicly about how business disagreements affected her relationship with Justin.

Justin previously lost his senior executive position at LifeVantage and was out of work for about a year. He later became president of Awakend. Whitney has said his career change significantly affected their household dynamic.

Those circumstances provide context, but financial problems should not be described as the definitive cause of the divorce. The publicly available court information does not establish a single reason for the marriage ending.

Divorce rumors had followed them for years

The couple had faced split speculation long before the October filing.

During RHOSLC Season 4, Whitney discussed uncertainty about their marriage after Justin appeared without his wedding ring. But in January 2025, she pushed back against divorce speculation during “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” saying such rumors had circulated for years and indicating Justin was not going anywhere.

The shift from denying breakup speculation to formally filing for divorce highlights how much changed within the marriage during the following months. Other long-term celebrity relationships have faced similar scrutiny, including Alan Ritchson and his wife Catherine’s separation, where family arrangements also became an important part of the story.

A relationship that began before RHOSLC

Whitney and Justin met through work, where Justin was her boss. Both were married to other people when their relationship began, something they later discussed publicly on RHOSLC.

They married in November 2009 and renewed their vows for their 10th anniversary, a milestone featured on the Bravo series. Justin also has three sons from his previous marriage.

The biggest questions now move to court

Many documents in Utah divorce cases are private, leaving several important questions unanswered. Publicly available information does not yet establish how assets will be divided, whether either spouse is seeking financial support or what final parenting arrangement will be approved.

Published reports also say a domestic-relations injunction was filed after the divorce petition. Such an order can establish rules governing the parties while proceedings are underway and should not, by itself, be interpreted as evidence that either person committed misconduct.

Whitney attended Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea Awards on Tuesday, the same day the paperwork was filed, but did not publicly discuss the divorce at the event.

The development comes as other reality-TV marriages face public changes, including Mikayla Matthews and Jace Terry’s separation after seven years of marriage.

For RHOSLC viewers, the key difference now is legal rather than speculative: while Season 7 continues showing the deterioration of Whitney and Justin’s relationship, their months-long separation has officially progressed into a Utah divorce case.
