Super Bowl LX will begin with a high-profile musical lineup before kickoff between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Pop singer-songwriter Charlie Puth has been selected to perform the U.S. national anthem ahead of Sunday’s 6:30 p.m. ET kickoff on Feb. 8. The pregame ceremony will also feature Brandi Carlile singing “America the Beautiful” and Coco Jones performing “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
NBC confirmed that the full opening ceremony — which also includes a special appearance by Green Day — will begin at 6 p.m. ET and air live on NBC and Peacock. Viewers can find additional broadcast and streaming information on the NBC official website.
Global superstar Bad Bunny is set to headline the halftime show later in the evening.
Charlie Puth’s Super Bowl moment
The anthem performance marks the first Super Bowl appearance for the 34-year-old Grammy Award nominee. Born Charles Otto Puth Jr. in Rumson, New Jersey, Puth first gained attention in the early 2010s after his YouTube covers went viral.
His breakout came after a 2011 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he performed a cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You.” He later worked with DeGeneres’ eleveneleven label, releasing promotional tracks and collaborating on a range of music projects before breaking into the mainstream.
Puth released his debut single “Marvin Gaye,” featuring Meghan Trainor, in 2015. Since then, he has released three studio albums, including Voicenotes, which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. His fourth album is scheduled for release on March 27.
He is also widely known for collaborating with Wiz Khalifa on “See You Again,” a song that spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and received a Grammy nomination for Song of the Year.
Other pregame performers
Brandi Carlile, a seven-time album artist and Grammy-winning producer, will deliver “America the Beautiful.” Born in Ravensdale, Washington, Carlile is also known for her activism and for co-founding the Looking Out Foundation, which supports social justice initiatives including LGBTQ advocacy.
Coco Jones will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” a hymn written in the late 1800s by civil rights leader James Weldon Johnson and later set to music by his brother John Rosamond Johnson. The NFL began incorporating the song into Super Bowl pregame ceremonies in 2020 following nationwide protests against police brutality and the death of George Floyd.
Jones, born in Columbia, South Carolina, began her career as a child actress on Disney Channel projects such as the 2012 film Let It Shine. She is now a two-time Grammy-nominated artist and recently starred in the television series Bel-Air.
Green Day and the Super Bowl celebration
Green Day will take part in a special Super Bowl ceremony honoring the event’s 60th anniversary. The Berkeley-based band will perform alongside Super Bowl MVPs from across the past six decades.
