Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara has tilted sharply Seattle’s way. The Seattle Seahawks are leading the New England Patriots 22–7 late in the fourth quarter, putting the Seahawks within touching distance of a second Super Bowl title.
The night began as a defensive grind, with both teams struggling to generate sustained offense. Seattle built its early advantage through the steady leg of kicker Jason Myers, who piled up field goals as the Patriots repeatedly stalled and punted.
The game broke open in the fourth quarter after a costly Patriots turnover gave Seattle prime field position. Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold connected with tight end AJ Barner for a 16-yard touchdown — the first touchdown of the game — pushing the lead to 19–0. New England answered with a 35-yard touchdown pass from Drake Maye to Mack Hollins to make it 19–7, but the Patriots could not string together another sustained comeback push.
Seattle then extended the margin again with another Myers kick, his fifth field goal of the game — a Super Bowl record — to make it 22–7 with under six minutes remaining. With the Seahawks controlling field position and the Patriots needing quick scores, time is now the biggest opponent New England has left.
