Xbox Game Pass September 2026: Every Confirmed Game and Release Date So Far

Xbox Game Pass already has five games with September 2026 release dates announced, giving subscribers an early look at the month before Microsoft reveals its full lineup. The current schedule includes Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault on September 2, SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed on September 3, Screenbound on September 10, Dune: Awakening on September 22 and Minecraft Dungeons II on September 29.

These are the confirmed releases so far, not Microsoft’s complete September Game Pass lineup. More additions, departures and platform details could be announced as the month approaches.

Xbox Game Pass games confirmed for September 2026

September 2 — Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault: Digital Sun’s action RPG reaches version 1.0 after its Early Access period. The game combines dungeon exploration with shop management, allowing players to collect valuable items during runs and then sell their discoveries to improve equipment and develop Will’s shop.

The full release completes the main story while adding more equipment, upgrades and post-game content. Its September arrival also brings the sequel to Xbox Series X|S.

September 3 — SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed: DoubleDutch Games’ competitive platform racer follows one day later. Races revolve around running, grappling hooks, shortcuts and power-ups as competitors try to stay ahead of the edge of the screen.

The sequel supports up to eight online players and includes local multiplayer. Its September 3 launch comes after the game moved from an earlier planned release window.

Screenbound arrives September 10

September 10 — Screenbound: Developed by Crescent Moon Games and Radical Forge, Screenbound mixes first-person 3D exploration with a 2D platform game running on an in-game handheld device.

Players have to consider both perspectives as movement and obstacles connect the two spaces. Screenbound has been announced for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, adding a third release to the opening ten days of September.

Dune: Awakening joins Game Pass September 22

September 22 — Dune: Awakening: Funcom’s open-world survival RPG comes to Xbox Series X|S after originally launching on PC. Set on Arrakis, the desert planet from Frank Herbert’s Dune universe, the game combines exploration, resource gathering, crafting, base construction and RPG progression.

Players must contend with environmental dangers including sandstorms and sandworms while building equipment, vehicles and bases. The Xbox version will include a full single-player mode, while private servers offer another option for groups that prefer not to use larger public servers.

According to the official Xbox Dune: Awakening announcement, the release supports Xbox Play Anywhere, cross-play and cross-progression. Xbox Series X|S will also offer Performance and Quality graphics modes.

The Standard Edition is priced at $49.99 in the US. Deluxe and Ultimate editions provide five days of early access beginning September 17, while the standard Xbox and Game Pass launch follows on September 22.

Minecraft Dungeons II launches September 29

September 29 — Minecraft Dungeons II: Mojang Studios’ sequel closes out the currently confirmed September schedule with a day-one Game Pass release.

Like the original, Minecraft Dungeons II uses an action-RPG format rather than Minecraft’s traditional building-focused gameplay. Players explore new locations, battle mobs and collect equipment while progressing through a new adventure.

The game can be played solo or with up to four players through online or couch co-op. Cross-platform multiplayer, Xbox Play Anywhere and cloud availability broaden the ways subscribers can play.

September has two clear waves of releases

The schedule is split into two groups. Moonlighter 2, SpeedRunners 2 and Screenbound arrive between September 2 and September 10. Dune: Awakening then lands on September 22, followed by Minecraft Dungeons II exactly one week later.

The variety follows the pattern seen in the Xbox Game Pass May 2026 lineup, with Microsoft mixing larger releases and smaller genre-focused games rather than building the month around one type of experience.

Subscribers should still check individual platform listings before launch. Game Pass availability can differ between console, PC and cloud, as previous platform-specific Game Pass releases have demonstrated.

For now, the key dates are September 2, September 3, September 10, September 22 and September 29. Microsoft’s regular Game Pass announcements could add more games to the September 2026 schedule.
