Red Bull Hardline Tasmania 2026 ended with American downhill rider Asa Vermette and Canadian racer Gracey Hemstreet crowned champions after extreme weather forced organisers to cancel Sunday’s finals at Maydena Bike Park in Tasmania. Under the event rules, Saturday’s seeding runs became the official race results, meaning the fastest qualifiers secured victory on one of mountain biking’s most demanding courses.
Heavy rain rapidly worsened track conditions, leading officials to prioritise rider safety rather than attempt a full race on the steep and highly technical course. Despite the cancellation, the event still produced significant results, with Vermette claiming another Hardline victory and Hemstreet securing consecutive wins in Tasmania.

Men’s final standings
Vermette produced the fastest ride of the weekend with a time of 3:15.805. Ireland’s Ronan Dunne finished second, while Australian Troy Brosnan completed the podium after another strong performance on home soil.
Only 2.293 seconds separated the top three riders, showing how closely matched the leading contenders were despite the length and difficulty of the course. Aaron Gwin finished fifth on his Hardline debut, while several Australian riders placed inside the top 20.

Women’s final standings
Hemstreet continued her strong record at the Tasmanian event by posting a winning time of 4:08.534. British rider Louise-Anna Ferguson finished second, 4.844 seconds behind.
The women’s field was smaller than the men’s classification, but both riders completed the difficult seeding run before conditions became too dangerous for Sunday’s scheduled final.
| Rank | Rider | Time | Gap |

| 1 | Gracey Hemstreet | 4:08.534 | — |
| 2 | Louise-Anna Ferguson | 4:13.378 | +4.844 |
Why the official results came from seeding
The 2026 standings were unusual because the scheduled finals did not take place. Persistent rain made sections of the course increasingly unstable, particularly on steep rock features, exposed chutes and high-speed landings.
Using the completed seeding runs allowed organisers to publish a final classification without asking riders to compete in conditions judged unsafe. That decision changed the tactical importance of Saturday’s runs, which normally help determine starting order rather than decide the winners.
The outcome underlined the unpredictable nature of Red Bull Hardline Tasmania. Speed remains essential, but weather, track deterioration and the ability to produce a clean run at the first opportunity can be equally decisive.
