Family-Friendly Fireworks and Free Entry Options

Wimbledon Park celebrates on November 5, while Morden Park hosts fireworks on November 7. Both offer 6:45pm and 8:30pm displays, alongside food stalls, live entertainment and fairground rides.

Beckenham Charity Fireworks provides a quieter children’s display at 6pm, followed by the main show at 7:30pm.

At Byron Park, the Wembley and Harrow event combines Bonfire Night with Diwali performances, food and family activities. Free entry is advertised from noon until 3pm, with fireworks around 7:45pm.

Coram’s Fields in Bloomsbury also offers a free family-focused November 5 celebration, although adults must be accompanied by children.

Ticket Booking, Transport and Road Closures

Most major events require advance booking. Battersea Park’s last entry is 8pm Saturday and 6:30pm Sunday, while Blackheath closes admission at 8pm. Kempton Park’s last entry is 7pm.

Public transport is recommended because road closures, crowd controls and parking restrictions may affect surrounding areas. Visitors should arrive early, dress warmly and check the official Visit London fireworks guide before leaving.

Other November events may also affect travel plans. The Bridgwater Carnival 2026 parade takes place on November 7, while the Birmingham Christmas Market opens on November 5.

Bonfire Night Tradition

Bonfire Night commemorates the failed Gunpowder Plot of November 5, 1605, when conspirators attempted to destroy Parliament and kill King James I.

Today, organised fireworks, bonfires and community celebrations remain central to the tradition. Visitors attending London’s events should confirm the latest weather, ticket and transport information before travelling.
