Movie nights are becoming increasingly expensive for many Canadian families, but Cineplex is once again offering a budget-friendly alternative. The theatre chain has announced its Family Favourites lineup for June 2026, giving moviegoers the chance to watch select family-friendly films for as little as $3.99 at participating locations across Canada.
The Family Favourites program runs on select Saturdays and has become one of Cineplex’s most popular value promotions, allowing families to enjoy recent releases and special screenings without paying standard ticket prices. This month’s lineup includes animated adventures, a sing-along event inspired by a Netflix hit, and a new sports comedy from Sony Pictures Animation.
The June lineup also arrives during a busy stretch for Canadian entertainment coverage, from affordable family screenings to awards-season attention for homegrown productions such as Heated Rivalry’s 16-win night at the Canadian Screen Awards 2026.
Four Family Movies Scheduled Throughout June
The June schedule begins with Charlie the Wonderdog on June 6. The film follows Danny, a shy young boy who imagines exciting superhero adventures with his loyal dog Charlie. When Charlie is unexpectedly abducted by aliens and gains real superpowers, he transforms into Charlie the Wonderdog and embarks on an extraordinary journey.
On June 13, Cineplex will host KPop Demon Hunters: A Sing-Along Event. The special screening allows fans to sing along with songs from the popular Netflix film while following the adventures of HUNTR/X and the Saja Boys. Cineplex says the event is costume-friendly, although face coverings beyond medical masks, weapons and weapon look-alikes are prohibited.
Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie arrives on June 20. The family adventure follows Gabby and Grandma Gigi during a road trip that takes an unexpected turn when Gabby’s prized dollhouse ends up in the possession of eccentric cat lover Vera. Gabby must reunite the Gabby Cats and recover the dollhouse before it’s too late.
The final Family Favourites title of the month is GOAT, screening on June 27. Produced by Sony Pictures Animation, the film takes place in an all-animal world and follows Will, a small goat with big ambitions who earns a chance to compete in roarball, a high-intensity contact sport dominated by larger animals. Despite skepticism from his teammates, Will is determined to prove that size isn’t everything.
