DoorDash outage

DoorDash Outage Hits App Orders and Drivers as Users Report Login Failures

DoorDash users faced a major service disruption on Tuesday, June 16, as the food delivery app suffered login failures, app crashes and ordering problems during a busy morning window in the United States.

The outage appeared to begin around 9:43 a.m. ET, with users reporting that they could not access the app, place orders or complete checkouts. The disruption also affected delivery drivers, with some Dashers saying they were unable to log in or continue active deliveries.

DoorDash said it was aware of an issue affecting its platform and was working urgently to resolve it. Users looking for official support updates can check the DoorDash Help Center while the company works through the disruption.

Customers and drivers both hit by DoorDash problems

The outage was especially disruptive because it affected both sides of the delivery process. Customers reported failed logins, frozen app screens and orders that could not be placed, while drivers said the Dasher app was preventing them from accessing active delivery tasks.

For restaurants and grocery partners, the timing created another concern: some orders may already have been prepared before customers or drivers lost access to the platform. That raises questions over refunds, cancelled deliveries and compensation for affected merchants and Dashers.

The scale of the disruption grew quickly, with outage reports rising from more than 10,000 to over 35,000 within the first hour, according to live outage tracking cited during the incident.

DoorDash outage shows the pressure on delivery apps

The incident underlines how quickly a delivery app outage can affect customers, restaurants and gig workers at the same time. Unlike a simple website failure, a DoorDash disruption can leave food orders stuck mid-process, drivers waiting at pickup points and customers unsure whether they will be charged.

Similar platform outages have affected major online services in recent months, including a wider internet disruption that hit several apps and services, as covered in Swikblog’s report on the Cloudflare outage affecting Uber Eats and other platforms.

DoorDash had not given a full technical explanation at the time of writing. Users affected by missing, delayed or failed orders should check their order history and wait for official refund or support guidance from the company.
