GTA 6 PS5 Controllers Revealed

GTA 6 PS5 Controllers Revealed: $84.99 Price and September 10 Pre-Orders

PlayStation just gave GTA VI fans another reason to circle September 10. Sony has revealed two Grand Theft Auto VI limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers for PS5, with Black and White designs inspired by the contrasting sides of Vice City. Both cost $84.99 in the United States and begin launching alongside GTA VI on November 19.

For players hoping to add one to their setup, the biggest detail is not just the design. Sony says quantities will be limited, and the Black and White versions have different retail availability depending on where you live.

GTA 6 gets Black and White DualSense controllers

The two models are officially named the DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI White Limited Edition.

PlayStation unveiled them during its September 3 State of Play. The showcase also delivered a broader lineup of PS5 news, including a major look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation and the September State of Play.

Rather than giving both controllers the same GTA-themed treatment, Sony and Rockstar have used them to represent two different moods of Vice City.

The White Edition channels daytime Vice City, with inspiration drawn from white sands, pastel skies and its laid-back coastal atmosphere. The Black Edition shifts to the city’s nightlife, taking cues from neon lights and the energy of Vice City after dark.

The design goes beyond a GTA 6 logo

Both controllers feature a shimmering, color-shifting finish that combines tones associated with Vice City sunsets and neon lighting.

Look closer and there is another detail: palm trees are molded directly into the controller. That gives the special editions a tactile element alongside the official Grand Theft Auto VI branding.

These remain DualSense controllers rather than newly upgraded hardware. Sony has not announced exclusive buttons or extra functionality limited to the GTA VI editions, so the main difference is their collectible design.

GTA 6 controller price: How much will they cost?

The Black and White versions carry the same recommended retail price:

  • US: $84.99
  • UK: ÂŁ74.99
  • Europe: €84.99
  • Japan: ÂĽ12,480 including tax

PlayStation has not announced pricing for every country, so players outside those markets should wait for official regional listings rather than relying on currency conversions.

GTA 6 controller pre-orders open September 10

Pre-orders begin September 10, 2026. In the United States, PlayStation Direct opens orders at 7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET.

PlayStation Direct pre-orders start at 10:00 a.m. local time in the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Portugal will use PlayStation’s hardware store instead. Sony also says eligible PlayStation Direct pre-orders can receive free launch-day delivery.

Black vs White: Where can you buy each controller?

This is where players need to pay attention.

The White GTA VI DualSense will be available in limited quantities globally through PlayStation Direct and participating retailers.

The Black GTA VI DualSense is more restricted. It will be exclusive to PlayStation Direct in regions where the service operates, while select retailers will sell it in other regions.

For this launch, PlayStation lists Direct availability in the U.S., UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy and Austria.

Sony has not revealed production numbers or guaranteed future restocks. Limited quantities do not automatically mean an immediate sellout, but players targeting a particular design should check the correct storefront when pre-orders begin.

Both controllers launch with GTA 6 on November 19

The controllers begin launching on November 19, 2026, putting them on shelves alongside Grand Theft Auto VI’s PS5 release. Sony cautions that exact hardware availability can vary by country or region.

Players filling the months before Rockstar’s release can also check the big games arriving before GTA 6 on November 19.

GTA 6 will put DualSense features to work

The special designs are cosmetic, but the controller technology will have a gameplay role. PlayStation says GTA VI uses haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to respond to the action and provide dynamic resistance during Jason and Lucia’s story.

That experience is not exclusive to these limited editions. Players using a standard compatible DualSense will still have access to the underlying controller features supported by GTA VI.

What to know before pre-orders go live

Players interested in buying one should remember three things: September 10 is the pre-order date, November 19 is the launch date, and Black Edition availability differs from White Edition availability.

PlayStation’s official announcement confirms the regional ordering details, pricing and limited-quantity status.

The reveal is specifically for the two DualSense controllers. Sony did not announce a matching GTA VI limited-edition PS5 or PS5 Pro console as part of this announcement.
