DETROIT — Dodge is bringing the Super Bee badge back for the 2027 model year with the most powerful gasoline-powered Charger Sixpack yet. The new 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee produces 600 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque, combines standard all-wheel drive with a selectable rear-wheel-drive mode, and adds a long list of cooling, braking, suspension and aerodynamic upgrades aimed at sustained performance.
Revealed on August 7, the Super Bee uses a revised version of Dodge’s 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six. Dodge says the car can accelerate from 0–60 mph in 3.6 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in 11.8 seconds, with power sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The important part is that Dodge has not treated the Super Bee as a simple horsepower package. Larger turbochargers, stronger cooling hardware, wide summer tires, massive Brembo brakes and new drive modes all point to a Charger designed to repeat its performance rather than deliver one fast launch.
How Dodge Gets 600 HP From the Hurricane Six
The 3.0-liter inline-six receives a pair of larger 56-mm Garrett Motion turbochargers that increase airflow by about 7.5%. Peak torque arrives at 3,000 rpm and remains available through 5,900 rpm, giving the engine a broad operating range for acceleration on both road and track.
Thermal management receives equally serious attention. High-temperature radiator cooling capacity has increased by more than 50%, while capacity in the low-temperature circuit has more than doubled.
Dodge also redesigned the front fascia and headlights to increase airflow by 30%. Auxiliary radiators sit behind the front corners, while changes behind the nose make space for additional cooling hardware and ducting.
An extended front splitter and larger rear performance spoiler help generate more than 100 pounds of downforce at 150 mph. Those changes matter because track driving puts sustained stress on an engine, transmission and brakes in a way that a short acceleration run does not.
The same emphasis on complete track capability is appearing elsewhere in the American performance market. Ford has taken a similar approach with the Mustang Dark Horse SC and its track-focused cooling, suspension and braking upgrades, showing how modern performance cars are increasingly judged by the hardware surrounding the engine as much as the power figure itself.
Brembo Brakes, Adaptive Dampers and Dedicated Track Modes
The Super Bee rides on 20-by-11-inch forged wheels wrapped in 305/35ZR20 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires. Behind them are vented 16-inch Brembo brakes at all four corners, with six-piston fixed front calipers and four-piston fixed rear calipers.
The Launch Edition adds Continuous Damping Control dual-valve adaptive dampers. Dodge says front tension-link bushings are 25% stiffer, front handling-link bushings are 50% stiffer and the rear stabilizer bar is 20% stiffer. Front spring rates increase by 12%, while rear spring rates increase by 6%.
New Track Mode and Drag Mode change how the Charger uses that hardware. Drag Mode reduces front rebound and increases rear compression force to improve power transfer during hard launches. Track Mode changes steering, transmission, traction and stability-control calibration for circuit driving.
Torque Reserve also returns as part of Launch Control. With the brake held and accelerator pressed, the system builds turbo boost while controlling torque at the wheels. Releasing the brake makes that stored response available more quickly, helping reduce turbo lag at launch.
The Super Bee is also the first Charger Sixpack to receive Race Prep, which can keep the electric cooling fan operating after the engine is switched off to help remove accumulated heat.
A dedicated steering-wheel control activates rear-wheel-drive mode, allowing all available torque to be sent to the rear wheels. Dodge has included Line Lock as well, adding another familiar muscle-car feature to an otherwise heavily modernized drivetrain.
That combination of power and chassis engineering is becoming a major theme in high-performance cars. The Ford GT Mk IV’s 6:15.977 Nürburgring lap is an extreme example of why aerodynamics, braking stability, cooling and chassis balance can be just as decisive as outright engine output.
Two Body Styles, Sucker Punch Paint and a More Focused Cabin
The 2027 Charger Super Bee Launch Edition will be offered in both two-door and four-door body styles. A new yellow-green paint called Sucker Punch gives the launch car its most recognizable look, while another new 2027 color called Shady will also be offered.
Diamond Black will be available with contrasting Sucker Punch accents on areas including the fascia and rear spoiler. Unique exterior graphics and a new turbo-inspired Super Bee logo further separate the model from other Charger Sixpack variants.
Inside, Dodge adds heavily bolstered front bucket seats with Super Bee branding, distinctive inserts and contrast stitching. The performance steering wheel carries a Sucker Punch marker at the 12 o’clock position, while larger paddle shifters and the dedicated RWD-mode button place more performance controls directly in front of the driver.
The biggest change, however, is philosophical. The Super Bee historically represented a more focused branch of Dodge performance. For 2027, Dodge is trying to preserve that identity without relying on the traditional V8 formula, instead using a turbocharged straight-six supported by advanced drivetrain and chassis systems.
2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee Price and Availability
Dodge has not yet announced pricing for the 2027 Charger Super Bee. Ordering and broader availability details are also still to come, so unofficial dealer estimates should not be treated as confirmed figures.
For context, the existing 2027 Charger Sixpack Scat Pack produces 550 hp, meaning the Super Bee adds another 50 hp while bringing substantially more track hardware. That distinction should matter when Dodge eventually reveals where the new model sits in the Charger price range.
The Super Bee Launch Edition is expected to arrive during the 2027 model year, with further pricing and ordering information due later. Until Dodge publishes those details, the strongest confirmed story remains the engineering: 600 hp, 531 lb-ft, larger turbos, serious cooling upgrades, 16-inch Brembos, selectable RWD and chassis changes designed to make the new Super Bee more than a straight-line special.
