QantasLink has turned its 25th anniversary into a major travel offer, releasing almost 170,000 discounted regional seats across Australia with one-way fares starting from $99.
The sale gives travellers a lower-cost window to book regional trips at a time when domestic airfares remain a major concern for households. The cheapest fares are available on selected economy routes, with many one-way tickets priced below $125.
The promotion opened on Wednesday, May 20, and is scheduled to run until midnight on Tuesday, May 26, unless the lowest-priced seats sell out before then.
Several popular regional and holiday destinations are included in the offer, such as Port Lincoln, Hobart, Cairns, Broken Hill, Kangaroo Island, Mackay, Fraser Coast and Bundaberg.
For passengers flying from Brisbane, QantasLink is offering one-way fares to Mackay and the Fraser Coast from $125, while flights to Cairns start from $159. Melbourne travellers can book Kangaroo Island and Port Lincoln flights from $159, while Bundaberg fares start from $189.
The airline has also included checked baggage, complimentary food and drinks in the sale fares, which could make the final trip cost more competitive for travellers comparing regional flight deals.
Why QantasLink is cutting regional fares
QantasLink was created in 2001 when Qantas brought Airlink, Eastern Australia Airlines, Sunstate Airlines and Southern Australia Airlines together under one regional brand. Twenty-five years later, the airline has grown into a major part of Australia’s regional aviation network.
The carrier now operates around 500 flights a day to more than 60 destinations across Australia and overseas, serving routes that are often essential for families, workers, tourism operators and regional communities.
QantasLink chief executive Mark Dal Pra said the airline was using the milestone to put every destination on sale, describing aviation as an important part of keeping Australia connected.
He said the offer gives passengers a chance to visit friends and family or explore regional destinations, from Weipa in far north Queensland to Launceston in Tasmania and Exmouth in Western Australia.
The anniversary sale also arrives as QantasLink continues to invest in its regional network. The airline said it is adding dozens of new aircraft while also upgrading cabins and regional lounges.
For regional travellers, those investments matter. Smaller airports and regional routes often have fewer daily services than major capital-city corridors, meaning cheaper fares can disappear quickly once demand rises.
Frequent Flyers also get a reward-seat discount
Alongside the cash fare sale, Qantas is offering a 20 per cent discount on Domestic Economy Classic Reward Seats. To qualify, customers must book a Qantas-operated flight with a QF flight number before May 25.
The reward-seat travel period runs from June 1, 2026, to May 9, 2027, giving Frequent Flyer members a longer booking window than the short cash fare sale.
