TopTopeka’s Breadbasket Farmers Market is back for the 2026 season, giving local shoppers a Saturday place to buy fresh produce, handmade goods and other locally made items. The market opened on April 4 and will run every Saturday through Nov. 21, 2026.

When and where is the Breadbasket Farmers Market?

The Breadbasket Farmers Market is held every Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Nov. 21, 2026.

Shoppers can find the market at 1901 SW Wanamaker Road, in the south parking lot of Furniture Mall of Kansas at West Ridge Mall.

What can shoppers find at the market?

This year’s market includes about 35 to 40 vendors, with organizers hoping to grow to as many as 80 vendors before the season ends.

Vendors are offering fresh produce, homemade goods, handmade products, small-business items and other local market finds. Some vendors are also selling newer items such as 3D-printed products.

Does the market accept SNAP?

Yes. The Breadbasket Farmers Market accepts SNAP benefits through the Food Stamp Electronic Benefits Transfer card program.

This year, the market will triple SNAP dollars, helping eligible shoppers buy more food from local vendors.

The USDA has described SNAP access at farmers markets as a way to help shoppers buy healthy, locally grown food while also supporting market vendors.

The market’s focus on local food and community access also connects with wider food-awareness topics covered by Swikblog, including World Food Day 2025 and International Day of Rural Women 2025.

Kids at the Market dates and young entrepreneur event

A new feature this year is Kids at the Market, a program for children ages 5 to 12.

Children who take part will receive $5 in kid bucks to buy produce and learn more about where food comes from.

Kids at the Market will be held on June 6 and June 27. On July 11, young entrepreneurs will also be at the market selling their own items.

Why it matters for Topeka families

The Breadbasket Farmers Market gives Topeka families a simple way to buy local, support small vendors and spend time outdoors on Saturday mornings.

With fresh produce, handmade goods, triple SNAP dollars and children’s events, the market is one of Topeka’s useful community stops for the 2026 season.
