Walmart customers across the United States are being warned to immediately stop using a popular Blackstone seasoning product after a nationwide recall linked to possible salmonella contamination.
Blackstone Products, based in Providence, Utah, announced a voluntary recall of select lots of its Blackstone Parmesan Ranch Seasoning 7.3 oz (#4106). The recall was issued after concerns that an ingredient used in the seasoning may have been contaminated with salmonella, according to a notice published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The issue traces back to a broader recall involving dry milk powder and buttermilk supplied by California Dairies, Inc. The FDA said the potentially contaminated powdered milk products were voluntarily recalled on April 20 after salmonella concerns emerged during safety checks. The same ingredient has since been connected to recalls involving multiple snack and food products sold across the country, including chips, chocolate powders, trail mix and other packaged foods.
Recalled Blackstone Parmesan Ranch Seasoning details
The recalled seasoning products were sold both online and at Walmart stores nationwide. Officials said only three specific lots are affected:
- Lot Number: 2025-43282 â Best By: July 2, 2027
- Lot Number: 2025-46172 â Best By: August 5, 2027
- Lot Number: 2026-54751 â Best By: August 12, 2027
The lot code and expiration date are printed on the bottom of the seasoning container. Consumers are being advised to carefully check their packaging before using the product.
Although no illnesses connected to the recalled seasoning have been reported so far, health officials warn that salmonella infections can become dangerous in certain cases. Young children, elderly people and individuals with weakened immune systems are considered most at risk.
Common symptoms may include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps and abdominal pain. In rare but serious situations, salmonella bacteria can enter the bloodstream and lead to severe medical conditions such as infected aneurysms, endocarditis or arthritis.
