Bed Bath & Beyond Returns to Stores With 22 New Locations Across the U.S. — Full List

Bed Bath & Beyond is once again welcoming shoppers into physical stores, nearly three years after its highly publicized bankruptcy reshaped the home retail landscape. The retailer has launched 22 co-branded Bed Bath & Beyond + The Container Store locations across the United States, marking its most significant brick-and-mortar expansion since closing hundreds of stores in 2023.

The new concept represents a different approach from the chain’s previous retail model. Rather than reopening large standalone stores nationwide, Bed Bath & Beyond is partnering with The Container Store to create destinations that combine home essentials with storage, organization and custom home solutions.

For consumers who have only been able to shop the brand online in recent years, the rollout signals a new chapter in the retailer’s comeback efforts.

Bed Bath & Beyond products are returning to store shelves

The co-branded locations bring back many of the categories that made Bed Bath & Beyond a household name. Customers can shop bedding, bath products, kitchen essentials, cookware, entertaining items and other home goods that were once staples of the retailer’s stores.

At the same time, The Container Store continues offering its storage products, custom closet systems, organization solutions and in-home design services. The combination creates a broader home-focused shopping experience aimed at consumers tackling everything from small room upgrades to larger home organization projects.

Instead of operating as separate concepts, the stores are designed to encourage shoppers to browse both assortments during the same visit. Someone purchasing new bedding, for example, may also explore closet storage systems or pantry organization products.

Where are the new Bed Bath & Beyond stores?

The first 22 locations opened as of June 18 and are spread across major markets throughout the country.

The rollout includes Charlotte, Nashville, Austin, Westbury, Chestnut Hill, Columbus, Bellevue, Minneapolis, Park Meadows in Lone Tree, Salt Lake City and Miami.

Additional locations are operating in New York City’s 6th Avenue district, Northbrook, Buckhead in Atlanta, Costa Mesa’s South Coast area, Houston, Oak Brook, Century City in Los Angeles, Natick, Tigard near Portland, Paramus and Chicago.

Company officials have indicated that more locations are expected to open in the coming weeks as the rollout continues.

From bankruptcy to a retail comeback

The reopening effort comes after one of the most dramatic retail collapses in recent years. Bed Bath & Beyond filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2023, leading to the closure of its nationwide store network.

While the physical stores disappeared, the brand itself survived. Overstock.com acquired Bed Bath & Beyond’s intellectual property and relaunched the retailer as an online business through a new website and mobile app.

The first signs of a return to physical retail emerged in 2024 when The Container Store began carrying Bed Bath & Beyond products. That partnership has now evolved into the larger co-branded store strategy.

Another major step came in 2025 when Bed Bath & Beyond acquired The Brand House Collective, formerly known as Kirkland’s. Some Kirkland’s locations were subsequently converted into Bed Bath & Beyond stores, further expanding the company’s physical presence.

Why the partnership matters

The strategy reflects how retail brands are adapting to a market where consumers increasingly expect convenience, specialization and omnichannel shopping experiences.

Rather than attempting to recreate the exact model that existed before bankruptcy, Bed Bath & Beyond is entering stores where shoppers are already focused on improving and organizing their homes. The approach could help the company rebuild customer relationships while reducing some of the costs associated with launching hundreds of independent locations.

The move also highlights how established retailers are searching for new ways to remain relevant as competition from Amazon, Walmart, Target and other home goods sellers continues to intensify. Similar competitive pressures are reshaping retail strategies across the industry, as seen in Walmart’s latest response to Amazon Prime Day.

Whether the concept expands significantly beyond the initial 22 locations will depend on customer demand and store performance. For now, the rollout represents the clearest sign yet that Bed Bath & Beyond is attempting to rebuild its physical retail footprint through partnerships rather than repeating its previous playbook.
