NORTHLAKE, Texas — A 37-year-old Denton County woman is facing attempted capital murder charges after police say her husband and two young children were stabbed inside their Northlake home — a case drawing additional scrutiny after authorities revealed officers had been called to the residence about five times since March.
Holly Leeann Flores was arrested following an emergency response to the 1200 block of Daylily Drive at approximately 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, October 6. Police said her 34-year-old husband called 911 and reported that his wife had a knife and was stabbing him.
The husband suffered a stab wound to the head. When officers conducted a protective sweep of the home, they found a 3-year-old girl and a 10-month-old boy suffering from stab wounds to their chests.
All three victims were taken to a Fort Worth hospital. Northlake Police Chief Robert Crawford said the husband’s injuries were not considered life-threatening and the children were expected to survive.
911 call captured husband trying to reach the children
Crawford said he listened to the 911 call and that the husband appeared to be trying to reach the children, who were in another room, while the alleged attack was unfolding.
The man eventually had to retreat outside, according to the chief. Officers arrived within minutes, detained Flores and discovered the injured children while searching the residence.
Police believe Flores is the children’s mother. Authorities initially had not confirmed whether her husband is their father.
Five previous police calls are now part of the investigation
The family’s earlier contact with law enforcement has become a significant unanswered element of the case.
Crawford said Northlake officers had responded to the home about five times since March 2026, with most involving welfare concerns. He said those calls originated from the residence rather than neighbors.
Police have not disclosed what triggered each response, who contacted authorities or what officers encountered during those visits. There is also no indication from investigators that the previous calls warned police Tuesday’s alleged violence would occur.
That distinction is important as the investigation develops: the earlier welfare calls provide background, but their connection to the stabbing, if any, has not been established.
NBC DFW’s reporting based on Northlake police statements provides additional details about the emergency response and previous calls to the residence.

Flores faces three preliminary charges
Flores was taken to a Denton hospital for observation and possible injuries following the incident. After being treated and released, she was transported to the Denton County Jail.
Police said she faces two preliminary counts of attempted capital murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The allegations have not been proven in court.
Crawford said Flores spoke little after being detained. Authorities have not publicly identified a motive, and no verified information released by investigators has established what allegedly triggered the attack.
Neighbors describe Flores as a local business owner
Neighbors told local media they knew Flores through community gatherings and interactions among parents. She was also described as running a balloon business.
Those accounts offer limited background about Flores but do not provide evidence about what happened inside the home Tuesday morning.
Children expected to survive as investigation continues
The condition of the two young children remains a central concern. Both were hospitalized for observation, but Crawford said their wounds were not believed to be life-threatening and that he expected them to recover.
The case follows other serious incidents involving children, including a separate Houston case involving the death of a 4-year-old girl after a custody ruling. Authorities have reported no connection between the cases.
Another recent investigation involving young victims unfolded after an Eden Prairie High School shooting left two teenagers injured, underscoring the continuing impact violent incidents can have on children, families and their communities.
Northlake detectives are now investigating the events leading up to the 911 call and reviewing the family’s previous contacts with police. Authorities have not said whether additional charges could be filed.
