Burlington is preparing to open 12 stores during August 2026, bringing new discount-shopping locations to eight states and Puerto Rico. The rollout begins August 6 and continues across three additional Thursdays through August 27.
Florida, Missouri and Puerto Rico will each receive two stores. Arizona, California, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin will each gain one as Burlington works toward opening more than 100 locations by the end of 2026.
Is your state included?
The August expansion covers Arizona, California, Florida, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin. Two additional stores are scheduled for Puerto Rico, including locations in San Germán and Cayey.
Several openings are in cities that already have Burlington stores. This suggests the retailer is increasing capacity in proven markets while also entering communities such as Fond du Lac and Queensbury.

Which locations add a second local store?
The new Mesquite store will join an existing Burlington on North Town East Boulevard. Buena Park will also have two locations, while the Kansas City opening will supplement the store on Chouteau Trafficway.
Miami’s new store will sit close to an existing Burlington at 8607 S. Dixie Highway. Cayey already has a location on State Road PR-1, and Independence is served by another store on East US Highway 40.
What will shoppers find inside?
The stores are expected to carry clothing for women, men and children, along with baby merchandise, shoes, handbags, beauty products, accessories and home décor. Back-to-school inventory may include backpacks, luggage, bedding and dorm-room products.
Burlington operates an off-price model, meaning its brands, sizes and products can change between visits and vary by location. The company advertises savings of up to 60% against other retailers’ prices, but the discount will not be identical for every product.
How is the store design changing?
Chief Executive Michael O’Sullivan said shoppers will experience Burlington’s improved store design. The updated format includes wider and better-organized aisles, clearer signs and refreshed displays intended to make departments and newly arrived merchandise easier to find.
Operating hours will differ. Published pages show some locations opening at 8 or 9 a.m. and staying open as late as midnight on selected days. Layaway and Amazon Pickup are currently listed as unavailable at several new stores, making it important to check services in advance.

Grand-opening offers and jobs
Burlington advertises opening-weekend activities and limited $10 Bonus Card promotions. Availability and eligibility can vary, and shoppers should check location-specific terms rather than assume the same offer applies everywhere.
The expansion may create jobs for cashiers, sales-floor associates, receiving employees, supervisors and managers. Applicants should use Burlington’s careers portal and search by city because vacancies may be removed once hiring is complete.
Why Burlington is expanding now
Burlington is pursuing physical-store growth while some traditional retailers reduce locations. The strategy combines new markets with additional stores in cities where demand has already been established.
Other brands are making similar location-based investments. Freddy’s plans to open 10 new restaurants in August 2026, while an 80,000-square-foot IKEA store in Westlake is expected to open in spring 2027.
Burlington is also developing a roughly two-million-square-foot distribution centre near Phoenix. The facility, which broke ground in April 2026 and is scheduled to open in 2028, will support the company’s expanding western store network.
