IKEA is coming to Northeast Ohio, with an approximately 80,000-square-foot store expected to open at Crocker Park in Westlake in spring 2027. The retailer will occupy the former Dick’s Sporting Goods building at 300 Crocker Park Boulevard, giving Cleveland-area shoppers their first local IKEA showroom.
The announcement ends years of speculation about an IKEA store in the region. Northeast Ohio customers currently travel to Columbus, Pittsburgh, Detroit or West Chester near Cincinnati for a full IKEA shopping experience.
Where will IKEA Westlake be located?
The store will sit at the end of Crocker Park Boulevard in the Dick’s Sporting Goods space that closed in April 2025 after more than 20 years.
Crocker Park combines shops, restaurants, entertainment, offices, apartments and a hotel. Its location near Interstate 90 could help the store attract customers from Greater Cleveland and other parts of northern Ohio.
The project was revealed on July 28, 2026, after Crocker Park teased a major announcement on social media.
When will the store open?
IKEA expects the Westlake location to open in spring 2027, but an exact date has not been announced. Construction deadlines, operating hours and grand-opening events also remain unconfirmed.
The official Crocker Park announcement says construction milestones and opening celebration plans will be shared in the coming months.
Will Westlake have a full-size IKEA?
The Westlake location will use IKEA’s smaller-store format rather than the giant showroom and warehouse model found in Columbus, West Chester, Pittsburgh and Detroit.
Customers will still be able to explore furnished displays, test selected products and receive planning assistance. However, not every displayed sofa, bed or storage system will be stocked inside a large self-service warehouse.
The compact format differs from the full-scale IKEA store at Sylvia Park in Auckland, which includes an extensive showroom, Market Hall and self-service warehouse.
How many products will be available?
More than 5,400 products will be displayed throughout IKEA Westlake. Approximately 3,250 items will be available for immediate takeaway, including textiles, lighting, accent pieces, home accessories and more than 250 furniture products.
Larger items such as sofas, beds, wardrobes and storage systems can be ordered in the store or online. Customers will then be able to arrange pickup at Westlake or schedule delivery.
Shoppers should check availability before travelling because some displayed furniture may be available only by order. Final product lists, prices, pickup procedures and delivery charges have not been released.
Planning services and discounted products
IKEA Westlake will provide personalized planning appointments for projects large and small. Consultants will help customers design kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, storage areas and layouts for limited spaces.
An “As-is” area will sell gently used, returned and discontinued products at reduced prices. It may also include former display merchandise. Stock will change depending on returns and available clearance inventory.
Will the store serve Swedish meatballs?
A Swedish Deli will offer food to eat on-site or take home. IKEA says the selection will include meatballs, plant balls, falafel balls, hot dogs, veggie dogs, cinnamon buns and other meals and snacks.
The company has described the food outlet as a deli, not the large restaurant found in many warehouse-sized IKEA stores. The amount of seating and the possible addition of a separate Swedish Food Market have not been confirmed.
First IKEA retail store in Northeast Ohio
Westlake will become IKEA’s third Ohio retail location, joining full-size stores in Columbus and West Chester.
An IKEA order-pickup point already operates on Tiedeman Road in Brooklyn, but it is not a conventional store or showroom. IKEA previously considered opening a full-size Brooklyn store in 2016, but those plans did not proceed.
The Westlake project therefore marks IKEA’s first confirmed showroom and retail presence in Northeast Ohio.

Why the opening matters to Crocker Park
IKEA U.S. chief operating officer Rob Olson said the company is creating more convenient ways for customers to shop closer to home. Stark Enterprises CEO Ezra Stark said bringing IKEA to Crocker Park had been “years in the making.”
Stark Enterprises expects IKEA to attract visitors from outside Westlake, potentially increasing customer traffic for surrounding restaurants, shops and entertainment businesses.
The announcement comes as other retailers continue expanding their physical networks, including Five Below’s planned US store openings, with a new location listed for Medina, Ohio.
What is known about IKEA Westlake jobs?
IKEA has not announced the number of jobs, recruitment dates, pay rates or available positions. Possible departments may include sales, interior planning, customer service, food operations, order fulfillment and management, but no specific vacancies are confirmed.
Applicants should use IKEA’s official careers website once Westlake positions are published. More information about hiring, parking, store hours and opening-day promotions is expected as work progresses toward the spring 2027 launch.
