PSG beat Arsenal 4-3 on penalties in a dramatic Champions League final shootout, with both Nuno Mendes and Gabriel Magalhães missing from the spot.
The shootout finished 4-3 in PSG’s favour. PSG missed one penalty through Mendes, but Arsenal failed to take advantage after missing twice, including Gabriel’s effort.

Nuno Mendes penalty record
Nuno Mendes is not a regular penalty taker. His senior regular-time penalty record does not show a long history from the spot, making his miss less surprising from a statistical view.
The PSG defender has, however, taken pressure penalties before. He scored in Portugal’s Nations League final shootout against Spain and also converted the decisive penalty for PSG in the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham.
Gabriel penalty record
Gabriel Magalhães is also not a regular penalty taker. As a centre-back, he rarely appears among Arsenal’s first-choice penalty options.
His miss proved more costly because Arsenal lost the shootout. PSG had enough successful takers to survive Mendes’ miss, while Arsenal’s second failure handed the advantage back to the French side.
The final showed how quickly a shootout can move beyond regular penalty specialists. Once defenders step forward, past penalty data becomes limited and pressure becomes the deciding factor.
