Zac Brown Band Gives 37,000 Fenway Fans Free Cruises at Boston Concert

A sold-out Zac Brown Band concert at Fenway Park ended with an extraordinary surprise when Zac Brown told more than 37,000 fans that each of them would receive a cruise for two.

The giveaway was announced during the band’s Sunday, August 2, 2026, show in Boston. According to information released by the band, the combined value of the cruise trips exceeds $40 million, with Brown personally covering the cost as a thank-you to the audience.

This was not a drawing limited to a few winners. The offer was extended to everyone attending the concert, transforming the opening night of a major tour into an unexpected vacation opportunity for the entire crowd.

The surprise came before “Same Boat”

Brown revealed the gift shortly before the band performed “Same Boat,” its 2021 collaboration with the late Jimmy Buffett. The song provided a fitting backdrop for the announcement and reflected the band’s growing relationship with Margaritaville at Sea.

Addressing the Fenway crowd, Brown said the band was about to do something “even Jimmy would say is crazy” before announcing that every person in the stadium would receive a cruise for themselves and a guest.

Brown described it from the stage as the biggest giveaway in history. That was the performer’s description rather than an independently confirmed record, but the reported scale was still remarkable: more than 37,000 cruise-for-two offers carrying a stated total value above $40 million.

Why Fenway Park made the moment significant

The Boston performance marked Zac Brown Band’s 15th consecutive sold-out show at Fenway Park. The group says it holds the venue records for both the most consecutive concert sellouts and the greatest number of tickets sold by a musical act in the ballpark’s history.

That history helps explain why the full-audience giveaway happened in Boston. Brown presented it as a direct expression of gratitude to the fans who helped the band establish its long-running Fenway record, rather than as an ordinary tour promotion.

The group first performed at Fenway in 2014. Over the following years, the ballpark became an important recurring destination for the band and its New England audience.

Other major stadium events have been driven by demand for additional dates, including the expanded Jay-Z 30 anniversary concerts in London and Los Angeles. The defining story in Boston, however, was the unexpected reward given to fans already inside the venue.

What the free-cruise offer includes

Each Fenway attendee was gifted a cruise trip for two operated by Margaritaville at Sea. The certificates can be redeemed on selected sailings during the following year, according to details released after the show.

“Select sailings” does not mean unrestricted access to every available departure. Recipients should rely on the instructions supplied with their certificates for eligible ships, travel dates, booking deadlines and expenses not included in the offer.

Public reports about the Fenway surprise have not provided a complete list of exclusions or additional charges. Fans should therefore avoid assuming that transportation to the departure port, taxes, port expenses, upgrades or onboard purchases are covered unless their redemption terms specifically say so.

CBS Boston’s coverage of the Fenway giveaway confirms the audience size, reported value, timing of the announcement and one-year redemption period.

A bigger version of the tour promotion

Zac Brown Band and Margaritaville at Sea had already planned cruise giveaways across the 2026 Love & Fear Tour. At other participating concerts, four fans per show will have an opportunity to win a cruise for two.

Those winners are expected to sail aboard Beachcomber, a new Margaritaville at Sea ship scheduled to debut in January 2027. The ship will feature “Same Boat,” a live-music venue co-designed by Zac Brown and named after the band’s song.

The Fenway event expanded that existing collaboration. Instead of selecting four winners, Brown extended a cruise offer to the entire audience while introducing thousands of fans to the cruise line and its forthcoming music venue.

Christopher Ivy, chief executive of Margaritaville at Sea, said the company was honored to help deliver the surprise and described it as an exceptional way for Brown to thank the people who have supported his career.

The giveaway comes during a busy period for large-scale live music, with events such as Wildlands Festival preparing its 2026 lineup, new stages and ticket sales. Zac Brown Band’s Boston show stood apart by making its audience the centre of the night’s biggest story.

Love & Fear Tour opens with a memorable Boston night

The Boston concert opened Zac Brown Band’s 2026 Love & Fear Tour, which is scheduled to visit cities across the United States over the coming months.

Fans attending the remaining shows should not expect the entire audience to receive the same Fenway gift. The announced promotion for other tour stops involves four cruise winners at each concert, making Boston’s stadium-wide giveaway a separate and much larger celebration of the band’s Fenway milestone.
