Parents across the United States are being urged to stop using certain Graco infant car seats with their bases after the company identified a structural issue during post-production testing, triggering a nationwide recall of products sold between January and March 2026 through major retailers including Amazon, Walmart, Target and Babylist.
The recall affects specific models within the SnugRide Turn & Slide range, including the rotating infant car seat, its base, and a travel system that bundles the seat. Graco said the issue relates to the base component, raising concerns about how the seat performs when attached, although the company has not publicly detailed the exact nature of the structural flaw.
Consumers are being told to stop using the seat with its base immediately. However, the company clarified that the infant seat itself can still be used safely without the base while customers wait for a replacement, a distinction that has become central to guidance for affected families.
The recall includes multiple models and colour variants. Among them are SnugRide Turn & Slide rotating infant car seats in Noir/Black (model numbers 2231809, 2231881, 2231884), Sandstone/Tan (2231885) and Mulberry/Plum (2231806). The recall also covers the rotating infant car seat base (model 2231810) and the Modes Nest Travel System with SnugRide Turn & Slide ICS (model 2243083).
Graco said the issue was discovered during internal laboratory testing conducted after production, rather than through customer complaints. The company has initiated the recall voluntarily and is offering replacement products at no cost to affected customers.
“We know parents rely on Graco products every day, and we understand this may create frustration and disruption for families,” the company said, adding that it is working to support customers as quickly as possible.

Families who purchased a Graco car seat earlier this year are advised to check the product label located on the seat, where the model number and serial number are printed below the date of manufacture. This is the most reliable way to confirm whether a product is included in the recall.
Customers are being asked to remove the seat from its base, photograph the product label, and upload it via the company’s recall page. Once registered, they can select a replacement option, with Graco confirming that replacements will be provided free of charge.
Importantly, no other Graco car seat models are part of the recall. The company has clarified that products such as EasyTurn, Turn2Me and other SnugRide variants remain unaffected, a detail that may reassure parents using other models within the brand’s lineup.
