The claim period is tied to Amazon’s $2.5 billion settlement with the Federal Trade Commission over allegations involving Prime sign-ups and cancellation practices. Those challenged flows include certain Prime sign-up experiences on Amazon, including the Universal Prime Decision Page, the Shipping Option Select Page, the Prime Video enrollment flow, and Single Page Checkout.

Why Some Prime Members Must File a Claim

The settlement payment process has more than one phase. Some customers received automatic payments in the first phase, while others must submit a claim to be considered for money in the current round.

For this second phase, eligible customers must also have used Prime benefits 10 or fewer times during any 12-month period of their enrollment. That condition is important because it separates limited-use customers from Prime members who used the service frequently.

Customers who qualify for this claim phase should have received a notice by email or mail. That notice contains instructions for filing and helps confirm that the customer may be part of the eligible group.

How to File an Amazon FTC Settlement Claim

The quickest way to file is through the official online claim portal listed in the settlement notice. Customers should use the information from their notice and complete the claim form before the deadline.

Claims can also be submitted by email by sending a completed form to info@subscriptionmembershipsettlement.com. However, the online portal is generally the faster option for submission and processing.

Customers should avoid unofficial websites, social media links or third-party services that claim they can speed up the payment. Settlement refunds do not require paying a fee to file.

How Much Money Could Customers Get?

The maximum payment is $51, but not every approved customer is guaranteed the full amount. The final payment depends on Prime membership fees paid during the eligible period and the settlement administrator’s review.

This means two customers may receive different amounts even if both are approved. The payment is designed to compensate eligible customers based on their Prime subscription history, not to provide the same flat payout to every Amazon user.

When Will Payments Be Sent?

The claim window lasts 180 days and closes on July 27, 2026. After a claim is received, Amazon has 30 days to review the form.

Approved payments from this phase are expected to be issued by September 2026. Customers should keep any confirmation email, claim number or submission record until the payment process is complete.

The first phase of the settlement did not require some eligible customers to file a claim. Automatic payments were sent to certain customers between November 12 and December 24, 2025.
