Theme of United Nations Day 2021

This year the theme of United Nations Day 2021 is- Building Back Together for Peace and Prosperity

The COVID-19 pandemic has reminded us in the best possible way that we are strongly interlinked and can create resilience against potential pandemics and other global threats only through working together and in unity.

The Secretary General launched a global discussion in January 2021 that asked people about their future hopes and concerns and goals for international cooperation through interviews and dialogues.

On the occasion of UN Day, which is observed annually, people have the chance to expand our common agenda and reaffirm the UN Charter’s purposes and principles, which have guided us for the past 76 years. A concert to commemorate UN Day is typically held in the General Assembly Hall at the Organization’s New York headquarters. It’s a time for nations and people to work together for a more peaceful and prosperous future, and the 2021 Concert is an invitation as the world begins to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
