Almost twenty-four years after Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee opened the Amrita Hospital in Kochi, On August 24th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the brand new, state-of-the-art Amrita Hospital in Faridabad, which features 2,600 beds and cutting-edge technologies like a centralized, completely automated laboratory. This will be the largest multispecialty hospital in Asia.
The hospital is equipped with modern equipment, including a centralized fully-automated laboratory, and is expected to greatly enhance the quality of healthcare in the National Capital Region (NCR). The hospital, which was expected to cost roughly Rs 6,000 crores to build, will reportedly have a small carbon footprint, no effluent output, and run entirely on solar energy. In terms of private super-specialty hospitals in Asia, it is said to be the largest.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, and Minister of State for Power & Heavy Industries Krishan Pal all attended the event. The humanitarian and spiritual leader Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) also attended the inauguration ceremony.
Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, also known as Amma, a spiritual leader, established the hospital. Located in Faridabad’s Sector 88, on the outskirts of the nation’s capital, this 130-acre project is nearing completion. With funding from the Indian government’s Atomic Energy Department, the Tata Memorial Centre constructed a hospital that cost more than Rs. 660 billion.
In addition to a rehabilitation center, helipad for patient transportation, and guesthouse with 498 rooms, the property also features a four-star hotel, medical and nursing schools, and a college for allied health sciences.
