The World Sleep Society, formerly known as the World Association of Sleep Medicine (WASM), has been organizing World Sleep Day, which falls on the Friday before the northern hemisphere vernal equinox, since 2008. The objective is to raise awareness of the medical, educational, and social consequences of sleep issues, highlight the advantages of getting enough sleep, and encourage the prevention and treatment of sleep disorders.
Sleep may appear to be such a natural part of life that discussing it may seem foolish! It may be among the most unimportant and unappreciated parts of people’s lives. However, getting enough sleep can be extremely difficult for people with persistent sleep issues, and it can have an impact on all other aspects of life.
World Sleep Day Date
This year, World Sleep Day is celebrated on Friday, 14th of March 2025.
World Sleep Day seeks to raise awareness of and provide support for people who struggle with sleep. In addition to influencing how individuals see and experience sleep by providing them with beneficial tools to aid in their everyday lives, it is helpful in educating people worldwide about the significance of sleep.
Theme of World Sleep Day 2025
This year, the theme for World Sleep Day 2025 is Make Sleep Health a Priority.
Together with thousands of other sleep health advocates and professionals, World Sleep Day offers a chance to promote sleep health. Our collective efforts are more powerful than the sum of our individual efforts when we all work together to promote #WorldSleepDay and sleep wellness. On World Sleep Day, raise awareness of the importance of sleep and contribute to a more positive dialogue about sleep!
