Why Bhopalis loves to roam in Vintage jeeps

In the era of smart technology cars which most of us want to own it and go for a long ride, there is still a section of bhopalis (Living in Bhopal) who likes to chill with their families in vintage Jeeps.

All the famous old jeep models of different brands you will get to see on the road of Bhopal, not just as a showpiece but actual plying on the roads. So, whenever you visit the City of Lakes don’t get surprised to see fancied jeeps like Austin Champ, Ford, Willys, Kaiser, Dodge, and Mahindra models because Bhopal has world’s antique and finest jeeps.

Bhopalis have inherited this Fascination towards riding in vintage jeeps from the royal “Nawabs of Bhopal” who were also fond of these classic models and maintaining a variety of collections in their courtyard. The last Nawab of Bhopal, Hamidullah Khan, had got an Austin Champ, which is now kept at the Noor-us-Sabah Palace Hotel. He had also got the collection of ford model jeeps.

They used to go for hunting in jeeps with net carrier behind but now the present generation used jeeps to go on city outskirts for picnics with their families. Though the vintage jeeps are not equipped with modern features and are not comfortable as the new generation cars, it definitely provides you that royal feel which lacks in present cars.

There is so craze for jeeps in Bhopal if people can’t afford premium vintage models they go for other alternatives like Maruti gypsy, Mahindra Thar or commander and customized it. Though the jeeps are less in number on the roads of Bhopal but still their presence is enough to charm the people which gives pride to their owners and not to feel like its burden on their pockets.
